My wife called me when I was overseas "raving" about Hoshun's! I returned home in March and it was the 4th restaurant we visited (after Mikimotos in Gert Town, Roux and Brew in Ponchatoula, and Tope La in Hammond). I must say...."wow"! Very nice location on historic Saint Charles St and the atmosphere is awesome. The amount of food you receive is criminal...so you get more than your monies worth. The sushi was incredibly fresh and the service FANTASTIC. My sister-in-law's coworkers brother and sister own the place and my family and I visit each time we drive to the city. The shrimp fried rice is my wife's favorite and she doesn't like everybody's fried rice. The cajun spring rolls - one word: UNBELIEVABLE!!! I haven't had one bad thing there. Like reviewer Cornbread said in his review "never disappointed when I leave Hoshun", more like they need to put beds in the place so I can go to sleep when I finish my meal!!! XOXOX
Food was excellent. Service was friendly, but we had to remind them of sushi order. Chinese entrees were excellent.
Yum!. Stumbled upon this place after midnight & was pleasantly surprised to find them open until 2am. Despite the late hour multiple employees were kind and helpful. Most importantly, the food was DIVINE! My roll was a little messy, but who cares? It was delicious. Actually the best sushi I had in a while. Will come back again!
Pork fried rice, spring rolls, and lo mein is so good. Used to cone here a lot for SIN night great selected menu.

You're my next stop when i come off this boat next month.i allways eat at the chinese buffets,and also chun lee,kim anh's noodle house,kim's on the west bank by dong kahn supermarket,but i ain't been to hoshun's yet but i'm comming and i'm bringing my peeps with me.yen,an ethnic chinese from cholon in saigon who works at traditional nails in river ridge,la. told me the food is verry good.
Crawfish and Asparagus. I can't give too detailed of a review, because the first time I went I had the crawfish and asparagus and I was in love. I have never ordered anything else whenever we go back.
Great place if you cannot decide on what Asian food you are in the mood for. Service is always great here!
Hoshun is a great restaurant! You should not expect a "traditional" Asian restaurant but a bit more of an Asian-fusion experience.... The playboy roll is fantastic and every soup on the menu is superb! The decor and atmosphere is relaxing.

Hoshun always come in strong. We had fast accurate service by very nice wait staff. The Mongolian beef was to die for. Every sushi roll we got was delectable. Sashimi salad was amazing.
The restaurant interior is excellent. Calm brown colors, fun music playing, elevated booth seating. Calm lighting. Very much enjoy this place.
Came here for dinner Friday night. Place was dimley lit but very welcoming.I had the Hoshun triple...Beef Chicken and Shrimp in a savory spicy sauce.. Very well seasoned and delicious. We also had the crawfish fried rice...i wish it was more seasoned but still pretty good. My wife had the fried pork in a sweet pineapple sauce...THAT WAS AMAZING!!! Plenty of leftovers for later.Bring your appetite cuz you're gonna leave full!!
Outstanding customer service from entry to exit. One of the rare restaurants open on Christmas and grateful for it. We thoroughly enjoyed the Chinese eggplant, sweet & sour boneless chicken & Kung pao shrimp. Decorum authentic yet a little dark (dim lighting). It didn't bother me yet someone might find exception. Prices reasonable and plates are hearty.
Food is always hot and delicious. Best for late night eats. Salt and pepper shrimp are soooo delicious.
Love Hoshun! Had been hearing a lot about it and finally decided to try it. Had the pleasure of the lovely Savannah serving us and she was honestly one of the best servers I’ve ever had. She was very friendly and attentive, and made some great recommendations off the menu. Food was delicious, will definitely be back
Very high quality authenic ethnic foods. The menu is huge! So much to choose from, but you gotta try the spring rolls, they're to die for! The teriyaki beef and the shrimp tempera roll were amazing as well! Honestly you can't go wrong no matter what you order here. Everything is delicious and the service was incredible. As a bonus, this place was conveniently within walking distance of the bed and breakfast we were staying at.
This is the most delish Asian fair in all of New Orleans. I'm not sure I'm qualified to make that proclaim but it's where I got my late night street noodle fix so I stand behind it. 😂 We had duck and street noodles and more alcohol. It was quick and quite yummy.
If food portion size was my primary motivation for being here then this place would get 10 stars. All the portions we received were huge!
Service was a little short staffed. Our waiter didn't get around to all his tables enough. I could tell he was working hard but he just didn't have any back up.
The atmosphere was great. It's a nice place to eat.
The food was good, not great but good and the sushi roll I had was good as well. The other two in our party were very happy with their meals and both commented that they enjoyed the food and they both commented on how large the portions were.
It's not typical New Orleans fare but it's good food and you'll get plenty of it.
Open at ridiculous hours which I greatly appreciated during college late nights. Egg drop soup is cheap but tops, (comes with fresh fried wonton crackers) one of the best that I’ve ever had and comforts me during hangovers or sad times. Lo mein has big juicy shrimp. This place holds a special spot in my heart.
Hoshun is by far my favorite place to eat. The staff, the atmosphere, the vibe....is all there for a perfect date night. The food is amazing. My favorite go-to is the Hoshun friend rice (chicken, pork, and shrimp). Check it out. You won't be disappointed!
