An absolutely glorious dining experience and that is not an overstatement. We used to have one of these in my city but my family never went. They have no idea what they have missed. Heather our waitress was an absolute gem. Hospitable is not even the word she was beyond that. She amplified the experience ten times over. She is such an asset. On to the food. Every single course was superb. The salad wheel was a unique touch that elevated the dining experience. Not to mention it was delicious. The potato skins were more like potato wedges. Honestly they were probably thee best I have ever had. I had the NY strip and it was perfection. They cooked it just right and the sides (rice and baked potato) were delightful accompaniments. The dessert was also outstanding. Might have been my favorite part of the dining experience. The presentation of the dessert's is top tier. They bring them all out to present to you. Which isn't helpful because you just want to buy the whole cart lol. We settled on carrot cake and turtle cheesecake. Phenomenal especially the carrot cake. I loved it so much. I loved the whole experience so much I plan to come back to Lafayette just to come back to Mountain Jack's. Also I need to mention my bill for all that extravagance was 108 dollars. Can't beat that for the experience provided.
The customer service was amazing. Our waiter James was so great and accommodating. He helped us figure out vegetarian meals for the 3 of us and even had the kitchen staff adapt a pasta sauce to make it more flavorful while being vegetarian. It was super good. The rest of the food were also really great. We will be back!
52 years is a long time, probably longer in business than most of the customers are in age. You can read hundreds of other reviews about how good the food is, and see the pictures of the cozy fireplaces. I will just tell you this is the busiest I've seen a restaurant since the pandemic began, and the most engaging owners I've talked with in a long, long time. And if the service was a little slow, the wait longer than I like, and the food not as hot as I like, I believe that will improve next time because they care.
Fantastic! Booked a reservation here with my dad when he was passing through town and we both had a great time. The restaurant has a very cozy, relaxed interior. The tableside salad bar was nothing special, but tasty nonetheless, and the house soup (chicken tortilla) was excellent. Of course, the prime rib was incredible - superbly juicy and tender. The green beans I had as a side were surprisingly good too! Would definitely recommend Mountain Jacks if you're looking for a nicer place to dine
Best MEAL I've had in a long time !! First of all we had the best waiter I've ever had. We started with Coconut Shrimp 🍤 they were the bigest best I've had anywhere. Salad 🥗 was good. Bread was great to. I had the baked Walleye to die for. Wife had NY STRIP cooked perfect! It's not just a restaurant it's an EXPERANCE ! Been there for a Looooong time. Give her a try !!
What an amazing place with amazing staff. It was simply great and I totally recommended this establishment. The salad brought to the table was amazing! Thank you so much.
My husband got the spicy shrimp and LOVED it. He also ordered fish for his entree with a side of shrimp scampi. He adds salt and pepper to everything and I never saw him use either shaker! He said he wouldn't order the scampi again. I had a pasta dish with chicken. The chicken was so tender and juicy! I will order the same thing again for sure! I had a White Russian with my meal as well......and it was the real deal. I always appreciate when a restaurant uses half&half and not milk! Everything was full of flavor and employees were all delightful!
