Another favorite burger place in Lafayette. I ordered the double cheeseburger, which was delicious. The taste of the meat is very good. The homemade potato chips are very good also. They have a great tasting burger, well constructed on a delicious toasted bun that hold up well. A great spot to enjoy great food downtown Lafayette
Lots of great looking poboys on the menu. The bread is very good with nice fresh ingredients. Want to try everything!
The Flats!

BURGER—ELLA SAUCE, AMERICAN CHEESE, PICKLE, SHRETTUCE, GRILLED ONIONS, TOASTED BRIOCHE BUN
PATTY MELT—ELLA SAUCE, SMOKED ONION DIP, SWISS CHEESE. AMERICAN CHEESE. GRILLED ONIONS, TEXAS TOAST
SPICY CHICKEN SANDO—BUTTERMILK FRIED TENDERLOIN, HABANERO HONEY MUSTARD, PICKLE SHRETTUCE, TOASTED BRIOCHE BUN
FRIES
The Flats offers a simple menu BIG on flavor. I’m already thinking about my next visit. I ordered the Spicy Chicken Sando—nice big battered chicken breast seasoned just right. I may have them cut back on the habanero honey mustard next time. It was an excellent sandwich! Rogers ordered their single Burger—I was lucky enough to get a few bites. Yum! Remember that their burgers are smashed burger style—crispy and thin edges. I can see myself ordering that as a triple fat boy special. Daniel (Danny) did not share his patty melt—stingy! It looked fabulous. I could do that as a double or triple too. I love their fries—excellent thick steak fries that are crunchy outside and fluffy on the inside. Perfection!
Notable observations:
While we were dining, they brought out an order of their BTS BREAD to another table—that’s a must-try for the next visit. They also offer a meatless portobello burger.
What a fun atmosphere! The Flats offers lots of indoor and open-air outdoor seating. We sat outside in the courtyard under umbrellas—what a perfect evening for that.
Give them a try—they are located downtown. — eating dinner with Stephen Rogers and Daniel Bernard at The Flats.
Nice vibe love the patio area! Make sure to order the loaded fries they are bomb! The margarita was a little to salty for my liking but everything was really delicious
Nice lunch date with my wife prior to going spend way too much money on groceries. She had the fried shrimp poboy and I had the Boudreaux. Both excellent sandwiches and would definitely get them again. Fries were a little over done for our personal liking, but that’s just us. Service was extremely friendly and helpful. Greeted when we walked in and explained the menu and ordering process when we mentioned we hadn’t been there before. Would love to visit again. Don’t let some of these other reviews dissuade you from going.
Redoing the review since Google confused the Flats and Pop's poboys (I guess because they have the same co-owner). Always a good sandwich. We come for the special of the week. This week Chopped Cheese, it did not disappoint.
So so so good. Very excited about this place. I got the single burger. Sauce and everything about it was on point. Reminds me of Freddy’s but waaaay better. Next time I’ll definitely get a double though. Also the pickle dip and homemade chips are addicting! Can’t wait to go back and try others.
The Flats got it going on! Ordered the single, the chicken sando with fries and lemon drop. Excellent service with fresh food. Patty was well-seasoned. Love that you can get take out without going inside.
OMG! Such an awesome experience! Brought in a large group & was taken care of with great hospitality! Food came out faster than you can sit & food was delicious! Definitely recommend & definitely coming back!
Had the Bahn Bahn Shrimp Poboy and Blue Cheese Slaw. Poboy was good. Flavor was pretty good but fell apart and was kinda difficult to keep together and eat. Blue cheese slaw just tasted of really strong onion. The service was great and super friendly people working there. I’d go again and explore the menu more if and when I’m in the area.
