Their donuts are always the best, their staff is friendly, and for years I've brought a King Cake to the Company Christmas lunch in Baton Rouge and every year they beg me to do it again because they have nothing like it in Baton Rouge.

Most amazing place ever. I drive 4 hours from Texas and this is a must stop place when in Lafayette.
I'm originally from the Lafayette area but currently live in Texas. I love donuts and have had them from all over the country.
I have yet to find donuts as good as Meche's. I had to pickup a dozen to bring back to Houston. They are amazing.
Always one of my favorite places since I moved to Lafayette. Food always great fresh and hot. Most importantly the people that work there are awesome and the atmosphere is fun a lot of times I listen to some of the conversations them older men have they can teach a lot and they can also cut up too. Love the place.
This amazing place. Historically significant of course. A buddy asked me to pick up a King Cake in Lafayette on our recent road trip for a boucherie event with Chef John Folse. We spied this place on our way to Scott, and remembering it was on several lists, we dropped in. I grabbed some King Cakes, notified my buddy back in Houston who responded "that one is based on doughnuts and is actually my least favorite". Well, I didn't know. I'm not a big fan of the King Cake anyway ( baking is one of my hobbies and I've always felt that I could improve on it with a superior brioche recipe). But you know, the place was hopping and we loved checking out the doughnuts. And the King Cakes did find a home with friends (bavarian cream and strawberry)/
So keep in mind about the doughnut based bread portion if you're shopping for one.
The family atmosphere is Joyful a d friendly. The donuts are excellent!! Meche's does make the best donuts!!
We tried the Maple grazed cake donut and it was awesome. Like a little spice cake so fresh!!❤️❤️❤️
There was good music playing, the young lady taking my order was so nice even though they was busy as freak, and the donuts never miss. They hot and delicious and you can't just have one...you can't

The best donuts in LaFayette. Arrived at 3:45a to beat the rush and was pleasantly surprised to be second in line. Took two dozen out to the team in Sulphur and all that saw the boxes made comments about Meche’s being the best. Reminded me of my fave donut spot to Atlanta, Revolution.
Love the retro feel, the lady at the counter was so sweet! We will be coming again! Everything here is delicious and the service is great! 😊 she gave us our two donuts (second purchase) for free when we went back to get two more. So sweet!
Great donut holes & kolachies. The glaze on the donuts faintly remind of their king cakes. Only been a few times cuz I'm from TX but if I ever stop in Lafayette for bfast when visiting family; I like for it to be there.
Good selection of different types of donuts. Coffee was fresh and plentiful. Employees were profession yet personable and friendly!!!
