Better food than we expected given that it's a bar in the middle of a shopping mall. Our group ordered the fish tacos and burger, which were pretty standard and nothing special. But we also had the fried chicken sandwich and really enjoyed that. The fries were pretty good too.
Unfortunately, due to the live music, it was impossible to hear each other.
And the service wasn't great. Two members of our group got their food and then our waitress told us they couldn't make the third item. We ordered a different item. Once it was prepared, a different waiter clearly didn't know where it was supposed to go. We watched him set it down behind the bar and then our waitress realized it a few minutes later. No idea why he didn't ask anyone. So the third member of our group got his food after the other two had already finished their food.
Also, the food is prepped at Olive Garden if you care.
The ambiance is warm and inviting, with soft lighting and traditional Hawaiian music playing softly in the background. The staff are friendly and attentive, ensuring that every customer feels welcome and well taken care of.
Now, let's talk about the star attraction - the maitais themselves. Maitais in Ala Moana offers an extensive menu of these delicious concoctions, each crafted with precision and care. From classic flavors like pineapple and coconut to more adventurous combinations like passion fruit and guava, there is something for everyone's taste buds.
The presentation of the maitais is truly a work of art. Served in beautifully carved tiki glasses adorned with fresh tropical fruits and colorful umbrellas, they are almost too pretty to drink. But once you take that first sip, you will be transported to a state of pure bliss.
Maitais in Ala Moana is a must-visit destination for any cocktail enthusiast or lover of all things tropical. With its inviting atmosphere, attentive staff, and delectable maitai creations, it truly embodies the spirit of aloha. So next time you find yourself in Honolulu craving a refreshing libation, make sure to stop by Maitais - your taste buds will thank you!
Great bar at Ala Moana mall. Reasonable prices for food and drinks. My waitress was absolutely amazing very friendly and prompt. I love the plantation iced tea here. Great live music!
Great place for cheap eats and cocktails in the Ala Moana shopping mall. Cute & friendly staff and cheap cocktails. Open air seating and live music are a plus for sure. $10 Mai Tais are $6.50 at happy hour.
My experience :
The live music was amazing, I want this dude to sing at our wedding .
being a solo person at this bar makes you invisible to staff. I was waiting over 20minutes for someone to recognize me. There were two waiters walking by but they did not make eye contact.
The third one that came was serving on the other side and apologized, she said she couldn't see me because of the pillars.
I don't like the QR code menus. I understand that it is easier but it somehow doesn't work with every phone. This restaurant doesn't even have a paper option.
The menue on the homepage was outdated.
I ordered the Edamame , Some Pokè and a Moscow Mule. The Cocktail Size was decent. The amount of liquor inside mediocre (didn't matter since I was not out to get hammered)
The Poke was good and so were the Edamame.
This was a nice find. Several Mai Tais on menu. Food was more bar lilke with a Hawaiian flair, but hit spot. Liked the laid-back couches that were an alternative to tables. My son had the hamburger on rice with gravy/egg and he loved it. I had a teriyaki burger plain, very cool flavor.
Under new management, but old staff there make it a great place to watch Monday night Football at 1:50 in the afternoon!!
Nice atmosphere with live music and lovely staff but the food was below average. We ordered the spicy chicken burger and the Thai chicken quesadillas and they were very disappointing. Would come here for drinks again but certainly not for dinner
Thank you to the most friendly local promoter Alan for inviting my fiancé George and I to this location. He ensured we felt welcomed and the general manager Norm delivered as well as the staff. This was such a memorable location and they had live reggae music. I’d highly recommend trying this place if your a local or visiting the island it will NOT disappoint!
This place is a vibe for sure. Probably the only spot I go to in Ala Moana center. Live music there is always legit and the drinks are good. I usually order pitchers of beer, great deal
