Loved our Spring Break here & easily purchased the membership again. The staff is excellent from Sponge Bob to the gift shop! Especially enjoyed the jellyfish & the lovely ladies there who took time to teach & explain. Families were letting their small children play with/harass the animals in the small huts off the walkways where it clearly says to stay ON the path. Please be better parents than that & this place will be a great learning institute for years to come. I also feel that they may have to place signs throughout suggesting that adults ALLOW the kids to see in the small glass spaces rather than stand in front blocking any sight by a smaller, younger people. Unfortunately, consideration is a thing of the past for most.

Everything is awesome about this place! Those complaining about prices being expensive, you need to realize those animals need to be fed special diets and need veterinarian check ups and care which is not cheap. Also people need to be paid to clean those enclosures. maintaining a small aquarium is expensive let alone the ones at moody gardens with millions and millions of salt water gallons. Keeping sharks alive is hard enough by itself! Good job Moody Gardens! And thank you to everyone who spends money at this place to keep these animals alive ❤️💕

Moody gardens is definitely worth a look at for sure. I recommend to go at least once! Tons of things to look at and we'll maintained. We went during the week so it was pretty quiet which allowed us to take in everything at our own pace. We did the tickets that include everything even though I feel it's hard to enjoy everything in one day considering everything opens at 10am and closes at 4 pm. There's simply just too much to see and do.

We were super excited about this place and it was pretty cool. We saw the rainforest which was probably the least underwhelming. We did t see many animals at all. Not sure if that's normal but we weren't there very long at all. We also saw the aquarium which was nice! We all enjoyed that. Next we saw Ice Land which was super cool and COLD! they do give you a parka, but being gloves and a hat or scarf. If you plan to go down the ice slide, you definitely need snow gloves! Lastly, we did the festival of lights which was definitely worth it. The kids enjoyed the slide! There were lights and concessions all over the place! It was a nice holiday outing for families

We went on a Sunday night and it was the perfect time to go. Longest wait was for the hot cocoa which was worth the 10 bucks and free refills. We did the festival of lights, Iceland, and the artic slides. The light trail was nice and plenty of photo opps. Iceland was creative, beautiful, and fun. The slides were unexpectedly the best of the night as 3 adults giggled like we were school kids going down them. Will return for this event!

We have been going as a family for years now. The lights are always nice, and Iceland is cool to see as well. For the amount of things to do and the experience in itself, I find that $65 for a one day pass is expensive. Food and drink is, of course, a rip-off just like any other amusement park or sports stadium. We went on a Monday evening and have usually always gone on weeknights in the past. This year, the place was dead. Very few people and not a line for anything. Maybe I'm not the only one who felt the tickets were expensive or in this current economy people can't afford to bring their family. It's overall a fun experience for the kids.

Worth-it tier: A-. Visits: 1. Very cool. Rainforest pyramid alone was worth the visit. You get to see birds and monkeys roaming freely! Less people on weekdays, so an even better experience for me. However, boat ride was cancelled. Definitely recommend rainforest pyramid.

My husband and I came to Galveston for our honeymoon and have had Moody Gardens on the list to do basically since we booked the trip. Let me say, it did not disappoint! We absolutely loved the pyramids. The rainforest was so different and interesting, and we got to pet stingrays in the aquarium. There was a worker by the name of Linda there, and she made our visit. She told us all about so many different animals and creatures in the pyramids and was so friendly. Glad we ran into her when we first started our tour and got to see her multiple times throughout the day. Highly recommend checking these awesome pyramids out!

Took my family to this hotel this year. Unfortunately, the food hotel restaurant was completely was inedible, and there was only one microwave located in the laundry room near the parking garage. However, the views, pyramids and waterpark for 5 to 12-year-olds were great! It was also nice NOT having a theme in your face like other vacation resorts. We went early in the summer, so the new hires knew nothing about the place, but they tried their best, and I'm happy they had staff.

Moody Gardens has been a destination for so many years. As a kid, my family use to take me often. As most places, over the years they change and the environment changes. I wasn't sure what to expect when taking my family over this past weekend but here are my thoughts: Very expensive, the place looks run down in some parts, attractions closed or not working. It cost my family of 4 almost $200 with the All Day Value Pass tickets. We went on a weekday which helped with cost as they discount it on those days. These tickets included all 3 pyramids, colonel paddlewheel, ropes course, 3d and 4d film and a regular film. Unfortunately with the wind conditions we were not able to do the ropes course or the paddlewheel. Kinda sucks we paid for those and cannot get a refund or raincheck. The outside of the pyramids look like they need a good cleaning or repair, the outdoor areas around the pyramids also look very run down, with broken chairs and tables. Honestly we had fun but it wasn't worth the money you pay for, especially when you couldn't do all the attractions. I will say the staff was wonderful. Dakota was an absolute treasure! We kept running into him throughout our time there and he was so informative in answering our questions and just a solid guy. I wish I could say we would be back but I can't say that now. One thing I will note is we did go during fall season. I'm not sure If going in the summer would make a difference but it just felt a little drab and sad during our visit.

We had an excellent time with my 4 year old and 2 year old sons. The attractions had multiple viewing angles from above water to under water at the same exhibit. My kids loved it and I'd definitely recommend going if you're in the area.

The moody gardens has several exhibits available from aquarium to theatre to a "zoo like" exhibit. I say zoo-like, as it's not exactly a zoo, it's more like a rebuilt habitat within the pyramid. You are able to walk through and view most of the animals present in the rainforest. For obvious reasons, pit vipers, dart frogs and other dangerous animals are still on display but behind glass. They had bats, birds, fish, sting rays, monkeys, otters, small animals out and about. It's worthwhile to ask when feeding times are as you'll probably have the best experience, as with most zoos, if you go near their feeding times. I liked their interactive floors like "the cloud forest" and some indoor exhibits showing how each creature, from large to small has its role to play in the environment. As for kids, you probably want to take kids that are older or more mature to appreciate it, as there is a lot of visual overload and a lot to take in, while being cognizant of the animals that are present. As it is a rainforest-esque habitat, plan to be in a warm, humid environment, and as you go inside, much cooler. Try to buy tickets through bulk program, AAA or in advance, buying tickets in person they did not have much savings.
