Very nice place to visit. Our uncle & aunt are members so it cost us nothing to enter; otherwise I believe it's about $20 an adult. It was chilly & windy the Sunday we went so some of the outdoor attractions weren't available but the blooming flowers were beautiful and it was a nice, peaceful walk. We were lucky to walk in right as one of the attendants was "watering" a chameleon & he was happy to teach us about the animal and about one of the 46-year-old tortoises that live there. All in all, it was a pleasant visit. I couldn't help but compare it to Pittsburgh's Phipps Conservatory - Phipps has more indoors flowers/plants so weather doesn't really come into play; the Botanical Garden seemed to have more outdoor spaces to explore so a visit should be planned around the weather.

This location is very beautiful. Gardens are well maintained. Great gift store. I personally loved the butterflies on the greenhouse. No additional fee to see the butterflies. The garden is designed well with lots if things to look at throughout the entire year. I loved the art installations. The glass was beautiful and the bird houses were adorable.

We always enjoy our visits to CBG year round! Frost this year was exceptional!! Even better than Glow previous years. It was a great experience for our whole family.

It just kept going and going and we were so impressed. So many different sections, including a fun herb/perfume/kitchen garden. Gorgeous arrangement of plants as well. Super fun butterfly exhibit as well in the glasshouse!! We didn’t know it was there and it was a super fun surprise. Only thing is lots of areas looked neglected or were under renovation, but there were still lots of well-kept areas to explore.

We have been there many times over the years. Staff are friendly. They do small things to liven up the gardens from year to year. This year they have some blown glass pieces incorporated in couple areas. Our favorite was the tree houses they had 7(?) years ago, and there is still one that they kept. The indoor kids area connects to the main building and the butterfly jungle garden; it has been remodeled and expanded so it is engaging for kids 1-12 years of age. My favorite is when they have a staff bring a chameleon out, so we can get a close look! We went to the orchid special exhibit about 8 years ago and that was cool to see so many species. Will continue to go back.

One of my favorite places in Cleveland, OH! A beautiful Family favorite, so relaxing …take a day and enjoy it all… from the glass house to the butterfly 🦋 release in the afternoon… and in the children’s Playhouse area, look for the chameleon!!! So wholesome of a time. The garden café is a great place to grab lunch or a quick snack. The Hershey Children’s Garden is a must, as well as the gift 💝 shop!🪴

A Memorable Experience: Our Kids' Delightful Butterfly Adventure. The Cleveland Botanical Garden surpassed our expectations and left us with incredible memories that will last a lifetime. Our recent visit with our kids was highlighted by the delightful butterfly release experience that truly captured their hearts. The butterfly release at the garden was an enchanting event. Witnessing these majestic creatures taking flight amongst the vibrant flora was a truly magical moment. Our kids were completely captivated as they watched the butterflies gracefully flutter around them. It was a unique opportunity for them to learn about the life cycle of these beautiful insects while enjoying an up-close encounter. Apart from the butterfly release, the Cleveland Botanical Garden as a whole was a treasure trove of natural beauty and engaging activities for all ages. The meticulously manicured gardens boasted a stunning array of plant species, creating a peaceful and serene atmosphere. Exploring the various themed gardens sparked curiosity and ignited our children's imagination. The staff at the Cleveland Botanical Garden were friendly, knowledgeable, and eager to share their expertise. They ensured that our visit was both educational and enjoyable, answering our children's endless stream of questions with patience and enthusiasm. The facilities at the garden were well-maintained, and we appreciated the amenities provided, such as clean restrooms and convenient picnic areas. The gift shop was also a hit with our children, who were able to bring home souvenirs to remind them of their wonderful butterfly adventure. In summary, our visit to the Cleveland Botanical Garden was a memorable and captivating experience. The butterfly release was undoubtedly the highlight for our kids, offering a unique and awe-inspiring opportunity to interact with these extraordinary insects. We highly recommend this remarkable destination to families seeking both serenity and excitement, where children can learn and appreciate the wonders of the natural world. You will NOT be disappointed. As a Cleveland resident, I've been to the botanical garden many times, but it was either to see something specific or in the winter time for the holiday lights. The other day, I took my eight year old grandson and was amazed again at how much there is to see and do here! The rainforest was full of butterflies, the desert box turtle was very active, and we spent a long time in the children's garden as well as the rest of the outdoor spaces. It's hard to believe that you're in the heart of the city. There are deep ravines, huge trees, and beautifully landscaped hillsides in addition to the flower and more formal gardens. He really enjoyed the three or four tree houses / observation towers that are scattered throughout the property. As a member, I felt comfortable taking him because I was not incurring any financial risk if he didn't like it, since my membership got us in for free (it is a combined membership with Holden Arboretum which is east of Cleveland, and is spectacular in its own right). But, we stayed the whole morning and had a great time. Whether you want a quiet place to eat your lunch away from all the hustle and bustle of University Circle, or you have serious interest in plants and gardens, this is the place for you!

My family spent several hours at the Botanical Gardens this weekend. Give yourself plenty of time to explore! There's so much to enjoy; a wide variety of plants and flowers, beautiful glass art, and a garden just for the kids.
