The staff is so kind, the coffee is excellent, the pastries are delicious, they always give you a hearty portion of cream cheese on your bagel, but most importantly, this shop feels like a home for the neighborhood. If you’re a regular, or just popping in, you can be sure to feel welcome.

Excellent neighborhood coffee shop! The coffee rotates through different roasters, so you get a wide variety flavor profiles week to week. They are very conscious of reducing waste through making reusable cups easily accessible. And the ballad of el goodo has become my favorite breakfast sandwich with lox and bacon. A must try!!
B&B takes their coffee and baked goods seriously---you can taste it!---without pretension or attitude. How refreshing. Love supporting this small business. I regularly purchase bags of coffee beans from B&B, always asking the owner Adam to recommend something I haven't yet tried. He's taken me around the world and never steered me wrong.
They use some of my favorite coffee, and the bagel I had was very, very good! The workers were also very kind and patient, as I first tried to open a locked door and then took a million years to decide what I wanted. So appreciative of the adoption of ForeverWare as well. Sustainable AND keeps my coffee so much warmer than a paper cup. Big fan all around!

Amazing Bagels, donuts and pastries. I liked the savory bread pudding. Just down the street from The Nest Acupuncture that I swear helped me go into labor with my son. Both places are worth checking out!
The outdoor seating area was not available when I visited, however, that doesn't take away from this place at all.. My iced coffee was strong and served in a reusable aluminum cup and the pastries I got were so delicious. The line outside that formed had people from the neighborhood, very friendly dog walkers, and the like. You order at the window when it is your turn, the menus in front of you. You can also see the croissants on the trays through the window. I did not feel rushed or pressured to order in haste as the people behind me as well as the person taking my order were all very chill, mellow, and respectful. They take their time with every single customer and are very kind with any questions you may have regarding their pastries and beverages. The mural outside was interesting and beautiful and I know if there were picnic tables nearby that side as well. Very cool spot! I had some great conversations while waiting in line. Very awesome neighborhood spot!
I really enjoy the espresso beverages as well as the drip brew coffee. The croissants are a must-have! Their commitment to reducing waste is clear during your whole experience (tip: bring your own cup). Prices are also outstanding, especially if you bring your own reusable mug. $1.99 for 8oz of coffee can’t be beat in this city. The mural, and the Dino response to the mural sealed the deal for me.
2023 Update: Beans continues to provide us with the best coffee and pastries you can get just about anywhere, in my humble opinion. They do so with care & compassion for the earth as well as for people, putting sustainability and safety first all while providing a superior product. Beans is important. We love their bagels, and their coffee selection is always great! Service has always been outstanding. And did I mention their croissants? Dear Lord! 🤤
They also offer do right donuts! Which is a plus when your sweet tooth is calling.

Loved it while visiting Chicago. Went there almost every day. Their bagels are top notch. Their cream cheese is very tasty and there are also different options there. I like the sitting room next door. Interesting wall art. My only complaint is that some of the coffee is a bit acidic for my taste. Oh and the three cheese croissant is a must try.
Really cute order-at-the-window coffee place. I really enjoyed my latte (just sweet enough) and the bagel was delicious. There’s plenty of seating outside for you to sit and enjoy your order in the shade.
