First stop when I rolled into Chicago. It looked fun and whimsical, so ya know your bought him some merchandise.
The price was alright, the dog bun was a little soggy and a smaller portion of fries than pictured. But overall I recommend just for the atmosphere and fun
After hearing about Superdawg years ago on the Travel Channel or Food Network (can't recall which) the establishment was a must-do on my visit Chicago list...and it did not disappoint! Wish their dining room was up but otherwise I had the hot dog I was looking forward to! The milkshake I had afterward was excellent as well.
Well, what a Super Dog!
This is a classic place that one must check out for the ambience, and the wiener itself was top-notch! I would compare the toppings and the dog to Portillo’s, but the MEAT QUALITY was a lot better and more flavorful.
Another "not my first time here, but first Google Review" for this place! Historical and classical. Been going here ever since I can remember. You're not a Chicagoan if you haven't visited! Cash only many years ago but allowed card payments within the past decade. Did not start with a small indoor lounge, then did, and then recently used it up for employees only. Ordering with the Car Hop is a must for first timers. When ordering, it's a Superdawg not "hot dog." Tomatillos are everything, so is the classic neon green relish. Their crinkle cut fries have the best texture. Their Whoopskiburgers not "hamburger" are excellent as well and don't sleep on their Tamales. Recently learned that you can order without fries for $2.50 less. For the sweet tooth, I prefer their Malts over Shakes. Plenty of photos taken throughout my many visits, but here are a couple from the recent visit. Food did not eat first this time.
I had high expectations, and they did not disappoint. I normally am a mustard kind of guy, sometimes with coleslaw.
I don't like onions or relish on my dogs or hamburgers.
After watching a couple of reviews they were blown away by the fantastic mix that comes with a Superdawg.
So I was brave and decided to dive into the deep end and get it the Chicago way.
I actually liked it and was amazed at the way all the ingredients blended together.
We came back a few days later and I tried a Superdawg with only mustard and chili.
Well the Chicago style was hands down better.😮
I couldn't believe that I preferred it to my regular go to Dog. Now my quest is to try to find a "Superdawg" comp. here in Arizona. Wish me luck.
I've been coming to Superdawg since I was little. This was the first time I haven't gotten a cozy dawg. I got my first supercheesie. What have I been missing?! It was delicious! Now the next time I go I'll have a dilemma. Darn you Superdawg for making such yummy food!
Superdawg has it all - retro vibez, and hotdogs that RULE. 🌭🌭🌭
Don't miss this Chicago highlight!!!!!!!!
It's truly an awesome place to kick it outside or in the car, and eat one heck of a delicious Chicago style dawg (the best kind).
Thank you Superdawg for all the memories, and good times. 🎶🎶
Iconic for a reason! A must-visit in Chicago. I've been loving these hot dogs since I was born, and I'll keep loving them from the bottom of my pure beef heart til I die! Carhop service can be pretty slow but always well worth the wait.
Best hot dogs in town, along with some great burgers and shakes! They have 5 outdoor tables to sit at if needed, otherwise you can order from your car via the drive thru window at your covered parking spot! This place generally stays busy, but can keep up with the demand.
Outdoor seating was really clean. Staff consistently emptied trash cans. Both the whoopskidawg and sueprdawg were amazing! Came with tomatillos and pickled peppers 🤌🏻
