Lunch before shopping and had a hard time selecting as everything sounded great! Had the lunch pulled pork and upgraded side to the Mac n cheese. Great! Local tap beer expensive ($10) but affordable lunch evened the score. Great service too. Highly recommend. Solo girl having lunch at the bar. Very comfortable atmosphere!
It's one of my favorite restaurants in Chicago! Amazing food and service, the wings alone are worth a visit! Great selection of flavors and recommended the Korean bbq. The Detroit style pizza starter is really good and well worth the cost, it can easily be split among 4-5 people, as well as the onion rings. Also, try to save room for dessert here!
Awesome place to hangout. We came here for a happy hour and wing challenge among our colleagues. The ambience is great and the best tasting wings I’ve ever had. The xxxx wings are absolutely fire 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥, a bit of warning. Several of us have literally cried. And the effect lasted several hours after. If you try the spiciest 🥵 , they do offer ice cream and milk at the end. Thank god !! 😄
I think my friend overly hyped their wings, so I had high expectations going in. They were fine, wasn’t a bad experience at all. But just decent wings. Great waitress.
They claimed award winning wings so we stopped in to try and they were excellent! We started with street corn elote dip and it was excellent! For the wings, we tried two flavors of the traditional bone-in. Original buffalo and firecracker (Sweet Thai chili & Sriracha), with firecracker being my favorite. My wife had the boneless wings in their Whiskey BBQ flavor-also very good. Service was great and the restaurant/bar had a welcoming, cozy vibe. We will be back to try the other flavors!
The wings here are the best I've ever had. The Wings of the Month are Hong Kong Sticky Wings with soy sauce and crunchy chili bits. Delish!
I also had the Fried Pickles that were cooked to golden crunchy perfection and served with a Chipotle Ranch dressing. Yum.
But my favorite was the Buffalo Califlower, lightly breaded, fried, and slathered with Buffalo Sauce. I'm not kidding when I tell you that I preferred it to Buffalo Shrimp. The serving was larger, and it tasted out of this world.
If you ever find yourself in the neighborhood, stop in and ask for Laura - the best and funniest server ever. I promise you, if you're friendly and good to her, she'll make your night.
Aside from the young children who filled the role of greeter/host/hostess, they gave zero F's about customer service and were border line rude about the tables being booked.... never occurred to them to even offer to put my party on the list to wait for a table.... Aside from that, the food "wings" were great, which was what I was hoping for. The place was great for watching an NFL game even on Thursday. The bartender was friendly and quick to assist.
A cool vibe with good food. Staff are laid back and just on top of things. I like the food here, they're known for their wings, which inagree are great. For those of us who aren't fully into the after-hours dive bar scene, Jake Melnick's is perfect. Plus the food is great. It's definitely a place where you could be known, watch games, and enjoy good food and people.
While there are not a ton of good options for BBQ food in Chicago, Jake Melnick's is one of the best places to go for this type of cuisine. We stumbled on this place due to the ridiculously long waits at Giordano's across the street, and I am so glad we tried it here. Jake's is a great casual spot right off of Michigan Avenue to get some great BBQ food and watch the games.
Nice place to pop into and have a quick bite. I ordered the flavor of the month for the wings and it was ok. But. They were out of coors and Miller on tap so I got another Pilsner that wasn’t too terrible.
