Emmie/Emmy (sorry) was the sweetest most pleasant worker I’ve experienced in my 2 years in Charleston. Beyond sweet, ALL the workers were kind and attentive and while we took our food to go, the bites I took were amazing. Great food, great atmosphere mainly because the staff was so kind! Will be coming back for date night as much as I can afford 🫶🏼

Probably my favorite meal on vacation! I’m a sucker for tacos. The crispy chicken one was especially good as was the corn. Our server Simon was great too!

The margaritas were good but place was pricey the nachos queso and beans with no meat were like $18 also had a total of 4 margaritas and 2 shots of tequila my bill was $101. So drinks are pricey.

Everyone was pleased at the table except my fish tacos came late and the fish was cold, but it was still good. I did not ask to go. I have it reheated because it came much later than everyone else’s. We had somewhere we needed to be.

David wasTotal vibe !!! The customer was on point . Staff definitely seems happy to work there. Very knowledgeable and also gives great advice. We were treated the way a professional would have it to be. For it to be Americanized take on Mexican food l am impressed with the creative flavors and one of the best margaritas I've had my whole life the pineapple habanero margarita knocked my socks off. I will be back .... With more friends and family.

It was the first time I visited Mex 1 Coastal Cantina and the food was so delicious. I had a to-go order but my food was still very tasty. I tried the CRISPY BEEF, RANCHERO CHICKEN and CARNE ASADA tacos. The Ranchero Chicken taco was very good and had a sweet sauce. The Crispy Beef tacos were my favorite. They host trivia night which is cool! I highly recommend trying this place.

So, we had spent the day in Charleston and my wife was getting hungry. She was craving Mexican and Mex 1 was close by. The chips and salsa were ok; salsa didn't have any zing and chips had no salt.
The tacos we had were amazing. I had carne asada, ranchero chicken and crispy beef. All were amazing. And under the reccomendation of our waiter, we got the churros for dessert. Very tasty! A nice place to eat

The queso and salsa were good. The chips reminded me of Chilis chips which are the best. My husband said the fish tacos were pretty good. The carnitas was tender and good. It had a different flavor than what I’m uSed to with carnitas but I enjoyed it. The beef taco was not good. I took one bite and couldn’t finish the rest.
