I was looking for something quick to eat before going on a boat cruise. Ted’s Dockside is amazing! The sandwich was incredible. Staff was all very kind and attentive. There is so much in this shop that I will likely break my rule of always trying a different restaurant when I visit Charleston… because the steaks I saw looked and smelled delicious! They also give back to the community which is great!!
I’ve been to Charleston twice before and I lament only finding out about Ted’s this time around. I eat a carnivore diet and asked for 1/2lb cooked bacon which I’m sure they found odd but was able to accommodate. The bacon is delicious possessing a hearty fat to protein ratio making it very satisfying. I ate 4 slices and was satiated. I now have enough to get me through the next day. I plan on stopping by before I fly out for the flight home.
Outstanding butcher that also has fantastic lunch sandwiches and gourmet dinners. Great selection of meats and fish, along with pasta and soups. Specialty menus during the holidays are excellent as well. Highly recommended!
Ted is the best butcher in town! I’ve been visiting and going here for about 8 years now. A class act, and very helpful. Always enjoy how he talks and visits with customers, bestows his wisdom and extensive knowledge of food and wine for the hungry to learn more! My only complaint is I don’t visit enough! Arguably also one of the best lunch spots in all of Charleston.
I gave Ted's four stars because the sandwiches we bought were amazing and exceeded my expectations. I love how they offered different types of unique drinks you can't always get in a typical restaurant. The shop was very clean and gave a very inviting environment to come and get lunch and just hangout. The service however was just OK, the cashier didn't really seem like he wanted to be there but wasn't necessarily rude. If it wasn't for the great food, I would honestly not come back. A small place like this, that attracts tourist, should be expected to have better service to match the quality of it's food. Service has always been a pet peeve of mine, which is why I may seem to be a bit harsh. I would however recommend their sandwiches.
Delicious and very friendly staff. Came here with kids for lunch while visiting the Aquarium (just a 5 min walk). Tried the vegetable sandwich and bbq sandwich. Only one choice for kids- grilled cheese but they loved it. Got a garden salad (huge) enough for kids to split.
House smoked salmon added to my custom salad. Topped off with any of their house made dressings. But come for the meats if that’s your thing!
Tried this place for the first time and was pleased with the selection they had. They offer deli sandwiches, salads and paninis for lunch which you can get with a side included. They also have local beers and wine by the glass you can purchase. The rest of the store is a meat and fish market. They have some pre-made pastas and cheeses all pre packaged and ready to go along with bottles of wine. They lunch was definitely worth a trip back for $12 with a side. I’ll be back.
Incredible food! We had the special which was an amazing pork loin. Hubby had an incredible T-bone that was melt in your mouth tender. We went early for the wine tasting that was $5 and went for charity. They have some amazing bacons and sausages that we brought home for later. This is my new favorite Friday night spot!!
We went there for lunch after taking a tour of the new museum and it was a great find. The chicken avocado sandwich was light yet filling and the sparkling lemonade was great for the summer heat. Check out this spot if you're into casual dining a small sandwich shops
