We come to Charleston every year (9) on our anniversary and always visit these lovely ladies in the Market Street Deli. Nothing fancy, a small, down-home menu, freshly prepared sandwiches and the best potato salad! I wish we could eat here twice a week instead of once a year!

This little deli is a great place to stop for a quick, reasonably priced meal. We've been here numerous times, and the food reminds us of the quick meals grandma would make. I had the breakfast egg sandwich with a sausage patty on toast (next time I will order the croissant). The second visit, I enjoyed the tuna fish on a croissant with lettuce and tomato, which was delicious. My guy never varies from soft scrambled eggs, bacon, and a short stack (he loves their light & fluffy pancakes). The ladies working at the Market are always friendly and welcome everyone who walks in. Every time we visit Charleston, we try to stop in.

Best Shrimp 🦐 and Grits in the city 🌆 of Charleston. Not just my opinion, but you can try it for yourself and see what I’m talking about 😏😋

My son and I are visiting from Baltimore. This is the first place we stopped for lunch. And boy am I impressed. We each got a sandwich and they were amazing. I love the women working here. Perfect first spot.

Honestly the main thing is that everything could have been seasoned better, it tasted a little plain. They are good for the price, and our orders were made within five minutes (although this was also probably due to the place not being very busy).

I just loved this place! Authentic & down to earth, not cookie-cutter! It’s intimate with a generous menu, straightforward, TASTY & filling food at a great price, & not least of all, the staff went above & beyond to accommodate. The coffee was delicious (half-n-half & sugar!), perfect wheat toast with yummy sausage, & eggs made by a pro, & served on a diner-China plate—I felt I stumbled into a wonderful secret place in broad daylight with hundreds of people & multiple choices on the street two steps below… The other patrons were a professional-looking couple and another woman who appeared professional based on her attire, & then a young couple with baby came in… As a single woman traveling, this is an experience I treasure (& all the staff were female), & I just LOVE Charleston in every way because the people are so kind & generous!!!

I was looking for a quick and easy non-fast food lunch and I went to Market Street Deli. The service was quick and the staff was friendly. I ordered a chicken pesto wrap to go. It was made quickly and tasted pretty good.

Very few places were open on a 9:00am Sunday morning so I stumbled in here. They were out of crab meat so I could not explore a new dish, crab omelette. I accepted the young lady's recommendation for shrimp and I'm so glad that I did. They somehow cooked the shrimp to retain it's own unique flavor that the original idea of crab meat made the desire for exploration obsolete with this thrill of discovery. Tomatoes are sweet, the spinach was tender and the cheese was not too runny. Seriously. My grits were mildly salty, buttery and granular the way grits ought to be. The service was like walking into a family kitchen without the dramatics. The music selection was really fantastic. Also, they were really chill about letting my old dog rest in the corner. She had new shoes to break in and was struggling to walk so she was really exhausted. This was a great experience. The best representation of Charleston dining. Very humble establishment with a good crowd.
