The best burgers in Charleston! Tucked away in a quite neighborhood, this member of the Murray Bros. restaurants has a great environment and friendly service. The food is varied on the mwnu, but the burgers are the best. The bar is really cool too and a great place to watch a game. You have to work to find it, but it's so worth the effort.
Came over last month from England to stay with family in the neighbourhood and ate at Rutledge Cab Co a number of times, we tried many items on the menu, all of which were first class. The service was outstanding and all of the staff were helpful and polite on every occasion and couldn't do enough for us. I would highly recommend this place and can't wait to come back to visit. Keep up the great work
This is a great restaurant! My husband loved his Reuben sandwich! Another in the party loved her salad! I ordered a hamburger medium well done, but it arrived quite burnt around all edges of the patty and a lot of the top and bottom of it as well too, more than well done. Another in the party ordered a hamburger medium, and it was definitely cooked to well done (zero pink inside and some signs of burning on one side of the patty. So my suggestion is to order burgers less well done than you prefer.
The fries, and sweet potato fries, and chicken strips and kids noodles were enjoyed by all.
Server was polite, though we did have to track her down for more water a few times. But I would return to this place and give it another try.
The turkey burger was fantastic! It was cooked perfectly. The tenders were moist and cooked perfectly, too. Very good breading. The French fries are also seasoned very well. I would love to come back during Happy Hour and try the veggie spring rolls. 😋
A great unique restaurant. Its location is perfect for the surrounding neighborhood. Service and food choices make it a great find. I really enjoyed it and will return.
The atmosphere is cute and Jennifer was awesome. My roommate got the Cab Burger mac n cheese, and a bowl of French onion soup as well. I had chicken tenders and fries. Their menu is pretty interesting and has a lot of fantastic options.
Personally, for me, the fries came out a little on the cooler side, as I'd they were sitting too long, and the tenders weren't as crispy as I felt they could be on the outside. However, the tenders internally were PERFECT!!
My roommate said the Mac n cheese was the best he's ever had, and that bowl of French onion soup was gone before I could blink! It was a hit! The burger was awesome as well. I do believe we will be back in the future!
After looking endlessly for just the right place to eat in a sea of restaurants Charleston has to offer, this one hit the spot. Atmosphere was great, they had good music playing and everything was clean. The staff was attentive and prompt. Prices were reasonable and most importantly the food was delicious. Everything we ordered was great and I look forward to visiting here again next time I am in town.
This is a great place to choose! I came across it searching for something new. It seemed interesting, and with Bill Murray involved, I figured it would have some higher standards. It is nestled in a neighborhood off Rutledge Avenue, a little outside of downtown. It is not a place that if you are driving the main roads you will see, so you have to know where it is. The building is a renovated gas station / convenience store. The front door was unique...it is crocodile skin. Inside the door is a bar, with the seating area surrounding the bar.
The staff was great. Savannah was our server and was fantastic. Great smile and interaction, perfect amount of attention to needs and refills, etc.. Some interesting cocktail combinations and starters. We tried the loaded fries...good choice. They arrive hot inside a small cast iron skillet, which is unique. I had a burger, which was cooked exactly as ordered, and had the right amount of juicyness to it. The Mac and Cheese was curly pasta, and a unique tasting cheese. Not exactly sure what, but it was enjoyable. Wife got the BLT. It was huge. She only ate half. The side fruit bowl had fresh strawberries, blueberries, cantaloupe, and pineapples. She loved both.
I have to admit, I was happy with the choice. If you are looking for quality sandwiches / burgers, but don't want to deal with the traffic downtown, this is a great choice. Between the food, atmosphere, and excellent service, this will pleasantly surprise you. Only thing we didn't get was to see Mr.
Murray, lol. Maybe next time. Take a chance, get away from your normal "go to" spots, you won't be disappointed.

The food was alright but a little pricey. The staff was friendly for the most part. My wife had to drink from my glass because the wait staff was busy, and we could not get a refill quickly enough. I had the Shrimp n Grits. It was tasty, just not many shrimp in the bowl. Pleasant atmosphere, probably will not return.

This was my first time at Rutledge Cab Company. It was wonderful. Our waiter was great and very prompt. The food was even better. I definitely will come back .
I have been coming here for years. Food is amazing. Atmosphere is cool and different than others in charleston. Prices are very reasonable. 2 times I have been i have been seated 2 different servers that were quite the opposite of attentive. If it was busy this would be acceptable, but it was around 3 in the afternoon and there might have been 15 people in the restaurant total.
Outstanding food and service in this charming old-school style neighborhood hangout. Drinks and menu selections are creative, yet offer enough southern familiarity to give you that ‘dining out at home’ feel.
