This place is so special to us. We had our first date here 6 years ago and came back tonight for the first time since then. Food was even better tonight than it was 6 years ago. Our favorite dish was the cauliflower. It was maybe the best I’ve ever had. The katsu and the shrimp/pork things were also delicious. The dipping sauces are crucial to adding bursts of flavor in every bite.
I love the postcard you get with your check. On our first date, we both took a postcard home from here and wrote love messages on them and sent them to each other. We’re going to do the same with the postcards we got tonight.
Recommend this place for a romantic and special evening with your partner 🤗🥰
The vibes!! Walk into a different time - an elegant opium den like atmosphere with aromatic scents and luxurious velvet couches and pillows. Cocktail menu is so creative. Don’t miss Fuzzy slippers -!decadent mezcal hot chocolate. Great staff who slay.
Groundbreaking flavor, incredible drinks. I loved everything about this place, cool dj set up, very casual cool like most Austin places without the fuss of grounds. I highly recommend everything on the menu.
Ryan took fantastic care of us and made my birthday very special. All of the cocktails and food were excellent!
This place is truly amazing. Ryan, our waiter, was super helpful and answered all of our questions about the food and drinks. He was always attentive to our table and made us feel right at home. This place has some really delicious cocktails and food. The ambience is really something and the music even better. But what separates this place from others is the waitstaff, they are all welcoming and nice to everyone. Thank you Ryan!
Moved to Austin in January and Ah Sing Den is my favorite restaurant/cocktail spot. I’m a regular if I must say so lol. Really good sake, unique cocktails, and Asian fusion dishes. They also have a back room with house music on Thursday nights :) it’s def a new yorky vibe
Pros:
- Ryan - amazing server! Friendly and great sense of self and humor. They gave delicious suggestions without feeling like we were being sold to.
- Drinks - they seem strange/different but this whole place is, enjoy the flavors!
- Food - similar to the drinks, flavors you don't expect but will certainly enjoy
-Ambience - comfy, beautiful, it's own scene.
- Crew - everyone I spoke with was super nice
Cons:
- Not really a con just a reality, it's not cheap, don't expect cheap. It's an experience on the East side of ATX. Even "cheap drinks" over here are expensive so enjoy the vibes, people, and deliciousness without stressing.
Went with a group of 6, we sat in the back/partially outside area with minimal AC. Their menu has a variety of cocktails, sake, beer, Japanese whiskey, and $1 frozen shots! The food menu is all shareables, we had lamb wontons (big pieces well worth$), poke nachos (-amazing), chicken Katsu sando’s (so good we got 3 orders), and beef cashew korma (very flavorful skewers). Music was loud, waiters were nice but the hostess gave us a hard time about adding 2 people to our table. Our bill was around $430
This restaurant is beautiful. The decor, lighting, and seating make the visit worthwhile. I went with a friend on a Friday night. They had a live DJ, which contributed to the already fun atmosphere. Their signature cocktails are creative, visually pleasing, and tasty. I had A Love Letter for Mickie. It was well balance and not overly sweet. My friend and I shared their goat cheese rangoons, steamed bao bun, and dan dan noodles. I enjoyed all of the flavors. The steamed bao bun was on the spicer side, so if you are not accustom to spice you may want to try another dish. The price points are on the higher side but overall, this is a place worth trying.
Worth every flipping penny! I seriously wanted to try everything on the menu! Apparently, they change their menu every few months, so I will have to make trips to Austin just for this! The decor was awesome! The staff was top notch! The recommendations were excellent!
If you are a visitor to Austin, like I was, add this to your must dine at list!
