O'charley's

We are doing our best to support local favorite restaurants during the pandemic shutdown . O’Charleys is one of our favorites and has always given us a well prepared quality meal. Our favorite is the Louisiana Sirloin. Our son picked up a couple for us for his moms birthday Monday April 13. The Sirloin was awesome as usual BUT the baked potatoes were so over cooked the insides had vaporized and they were basically a tough hollow shell. They had to be that way when they were picked up. We are only a few minutes from the restaurant. They went in the trash. Luckily we keep the plastic wrap microwaveable potatoes in our pantry. Note to this restaurant. If you are totally takeout now you need to pay attention to your food going out if you want people to come back. Wish I had taken a pic. I have never seen a hollow potato. Also, the portion of Caesar salad we got was much less and lower quality than previous dine in salads.

The establishment was clean and the service was excellent. Our server was Jim. He was on point and pleasant. My wife's order was excellent. Chicken in a Jamaican white sauce. My dish was a seafood platter. Unfortunately I wasn't pleased. Fries, coleslaw, five large shrimp (excellent), two pieces of cod (1st time having and it was ok) three stuffed crabs ( this was where I was totally disappointed). They were the size of the a small (2 or 3 yrs old) child's palm. No taste at all. My home is Florida so I've had stuffed crab, 22 yr Vet and have traveled the world. These were pretty to look at but not a good taste at all. I will definitely return, but WILL NOT ORDER THIS PLATTER.

I ordered the New CAROLINA GOLD BBQ CHICKEN SANDWICH for $8.99 with an Arnold Palmer to drink. The meal consists of a Grilled chicken breast topped with applewood-smoked bacon, Monterey Jack cheese and sweet & tangy Carolina Gold BBQ sauce on a bun with lettuce, tomato, onion & pickles. I selected fries for a side & added a side salad. Salad was OK with heavy dose of croutons & mostly Romaine Lettuce. I had them put the bacon on the side to come cut calories, and the sandwich was very good with a honey mustard type sauce. Fries were a good size portion, hot, & crisp on the outside. Complimentary rolls we're fresh and the only downside was the Arnold Palmer tasted a little watered down. Overall good value meal & I would rate it an 8 out of 10. See attached three photos.
