El Burro Loco

Ended up here Christmas Eve coming back from Mt. Hood, and stumbled into our new favorite restaurant. Something for everyone, AMAZING food, wonderful service. Our bartender/waiter was fantastic and delightful, went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and happy. The nacho plate stayed crispy the whole time, as it was carefully structured so that the chips would not get soggy. Surprise ribeye steak was delicious and cooked to perfection. Will absolutely be going back.

This place far exceeded our expectations for a Mexican restaurant in Welches. The service was stellar, and the food was delicious and very authentic. We met the owner, Jose, who bought the restaurant six months ago and he personally does all of the cooking. I ordered the crab and shrimp enchiladas and my wife ordered the wild boar tacos. We’ll come back every time we come to Welches.

The salsa was uniquely prepared-the tomatoes were torn by hand, not chopped up. The flavor was excellent, and not too spicy. Really delicious. The rice was moist and flavorful, and the black beans were perfectly done. They were the perfect accompaniment to the vegetable fajitas that I ordered. The service was excellent. We were greeted at the door by the new owner and the wait staff, and we were served promptly and efficiently. We had the good fortune to speak with the new owner after dinner. He is working hard to make this restaurant a success. He’s doing a great job! Maybe the best part of our experience at El Burro Loco was that it was open on Sunday evening for dinner when most other restaurants are closed. That's great for the locals.

Best Mexican food I've tried in all the USA. Their food was so tasty so I decided to dinner there everyday on my vacations. The new owner Mr. José Arana "Don Chon" and his wife are awesome persons and they are wonderful cooking. Best Birria and Carnitas in the whole country. If you like Real Mexican Food, that is the place.
