I went last Friday and had a lot of fun. However, it does get packed on the weekends to the point where it’s hard to find a seat. But after 11 it tends to clear out. One annoying thing is that they charge $3 per game instead of a flat rate like other places. They do have a good selection of both drinks and games, though.
An open, comfortable bar in a hot part of town. This place specializes in people meeting up to play board games (hence the name) but I just stumbled by because of the large TVs and my desire to not miss a certain ball game. The bartender was attentive and efficient, the crowd was cool and fun.
They do not serve food, but they welcome outside food of which there is plenty nearby.
I cannot comment much because I feel like I'm becoming the old guy going to bars. Nevertheless this place has a nice atmosphere and the board games made it a perfect place to spend it with others. The place was super crowded, but I felt like it was big enough to fit the clients coming and going here. Bathrooms like any bar just get so dirty.
Can't complain about anything else.
Highly recommend for a meetup with friends, especially their happy hour! Fun environment with a huge selection of boardgames, board game-themed decor everywhere & friendly chill bartenders. The drinks are good & strong.
My only suggestion would be some soundproofing materials would do them good. It gets loud with everyone talking, and the space isn’t really setup in a way to absorb any noise.
Still, I’m a fan. If you like a game night in with friends, but also want to go out👌 Games are $3 (free until 7), so also a good spot to try out a new game
Board room is one of my favorite spots for a cold rainy hang. Chill and accepting vibe for every demo (not sure about kids, as it is a bar, sometimes there is a bouncer checking ID’s I believe). Board games, beer, sports, friendly bartenders. What’s not to love? They have 100’s of board games and card games to choose from. Great happy hour!
Great time here if you like to play board games and have a few social drinks. Highly recommend. They do not serve food though.
One of my favorite bars in the city. I always go at Happy Hour for the great drink prices and the free games. Overall the atmosphere is very chill and the crowd and bartenders are always friendly and respectful. Awesome added bonus that you can bring your own food!
This is a great place to meet with groups of friends, especially people who might be overwhelmed or turned off by a traditional “bar scene.” Board Room is relaxing, safe and comfortable, by contrast.
Wide choice of beers and a friendly staff who helped me through my choice. I was there for the happy hour and the board games are for free. Nice environment, full of happy gamers :)
Wide selection of board games to choose from, the games are a $3 rental if you don’t buy a drink. They also have happy hour with good priced drinks.
Great bar for chill hanging out with friends. I went there recently in the late afternoon to play some board games with a couple of friends and we had a great time. We ended up sitting at the small round high top tables that’re near the bar, there was enough room for card games and battleship but I suggest if you have more than 2 people you pick a larger table so you don’t have to worry about losing pieces onto the floor. My friends seemed to enjoy the beer selection and I opted for a glass of house wine on happy hour
