Was a great experience here. Had lunch to celebrate my dad's birthday, and the manager himself came out to hand my dad the complimentary cake from the restaurant itself. The waiters are all very funny, friendly and kind. Food is great too, with not so high price! Recommended!
I’m giving this a four because the service was so amazing! The food was okay. I didn’t like the dessert. The attire is not street friendly, please be sure to at least wear business casual. The staff is so AWESOME. I ordered tea which was better than the St. Regis. My experience has been amazing when it come to service. BREAKFAST: Pancakes were solid, chicken sausage was okay but next time I will order bacon, eggs were awesome! Three diners for breakfast came to $110. Ordered, two of the Hay Yard Eggs, one coffee, one tea, and pancakes. It was much better than the midday snack! The service is so good!!!
The Hay-Adams has become one of my favorite hotels. The staff is amazing, the hotel is quaint and brings that old-historical charm.
The Lafayette restaurant at the Hay-Adams, exemplifies its elegance and luxury in fine dining. I was very fortunate to have Giovanni as our server multiple times at the Lafayette. We even were able to meet the sous chef and question him on some of the amazingly delicious dishes he constructed.
The pictures don’t do the taste justice. You will have to experience it for your self.
Second time back in DC for a weekend and we are in Hay Adams again after 10 years. The food never disappoints and in fact everything was superb! Rack of lamb and Crab gnocchi were excellent. You have to order the soufflé! The ambiance was fine dining yet the wait staff are so warm and pleasant! We stayed for a 3 hour dinner and it was a beautiful and elegant experience
First, business casual wear required at a minimum. Second, the service was exceptional and my party of 4 all had a great time. This is a pricey establishment but for the location and quality of food it meets the eye and mouth test. We had the ahi tuna appetizer, which was excellent, albeit the portion size being small (4 bite sized pieces). I had the scallops which were great but again, small portion size (3 large scallops) and I could have gone for one additional. The cinnamon/apple desert item was the only bummer as nobody at our table really cared for it. The other items ordered, fish and filets, were all given thumbs up. For a once in a while fancier dining experience this is a good spot to check out.
All around great experience. Very peaceful and quite breakfast. Everyone was very kind and attentive. Thanks 👍
As a visitor from Chicago area I am very picky about my out of town experiences. Chicago's hard to compete with. I took my daughter here for a birthday breakfast. It's an experience everyone should have once in their life. From the double doormen grand entrance opening to the exquisite regency dining room. The details: quilted table linens, beautiful coffee/tea settings, beautiful cutlery, napkins. The simplicity and elegance. The low classical music playing. It was everything. The wait staff was AMAZING. I didn't have to lift a finger. They were so kind. I can tell they were elated to serve us because we were tourist and African American. Ethnic people become so proud when we see others exposing our children to experiences we never thought we could do. They actually called me a great mom🥰🥰 I enjoyed myself sooo much.
The Lafayette is the quintessential fine dining experience. With a stellar pianist, a solid wine selection, and an atmosphere that supports a fancy date, an intimate family dinner, or a corporate dinner, its french-inspired cuisine is both everything one should expect from a restaurant situated overlooking the historic Lafayette Park and White House yet unique enough to leave you wondering about the meal long after you leave.
It is a place where one can feel the history and the prestige of its location, while enjoying the modern and innovative cuisine of its kitchen. It is a place where one can find not only perspective, but also pleasure. It is a place that I highly recommend to anyone who appreciates the art of dining.
Amazing restaurant located in the Hay Adams hotel. Reservations were done via Google and confirmed by the restaurant a couple days in advance. Table was ready 45 minutes in advance. Their customer service from initial greeting through the whole dinner was amazing. Very good wine menu and you also have a cocktail menu as well. We tried a mushroom soup and octopus for appetizers. Ordered chicken breast and bronzini for main course. For our dessert we had creme Brule. Everything was amazing and tasty. We will definitely come back.
They serve the cutest little desserts. Great atmosphere, worth a visit.
