Lonnie Q's Bbq

We've been eating at Lonnie's before it became known as Lonnie's Q's BBQ...when it was part of the Harley Davidson shop at 21st in KS. At least 17 years ago...before my 1st baby was born. We have ALWAYS had amazing food! No complaints ever! Tonight was the best we've ever had...Keeps getting better 😋 Thank you Lonnie Q!

Hey Krewe, if your looking for some great bbq make the trip to Topeka and Lonnie Q bbq. First the service and Lonnie are great. He stacks the bbq high and wide. On our first visit Lonnie recommended the combination platter with a sample of 3 meats...mmmm was it good. But he added the chest potatoes with the browned bits and some cold slaw and wow. Filled is up for the day. We were staying at the deer creek RV park and when we came back Lonnie remembered us. You too will be back if you stop in and get some bbq. We will have to go back for some ribs. Pro tip: check thier Facebook page for up to date hours. They are closed on Monday's in may but the website is not updated. 2nd tip: the bbq sauce( regular and spicery) can be a little heavy on the vinegar and lemon so try the meat first because we didn't need any sauce it was that good. Lonnie Q's is THE best BBQ! It is a must when we come to town each year. The restaurant is welcoming, the staff is always friendly and the quality of food is outstanding. Lonnie puts a lot of work and love into his dishes and it shows. The weekly hours are limited and/or until the food runs out so be sure to plan ahead and remember when you see the line that it is worth every minute of the wait!

I was driving west and wanted to get some Kansas BBQ on the way. I couldn't stop in Kansas City timewise, so I went here. Stood in line for half an hour at 11:15am. I ordered the brisket sandwich (only - no sides) and was disappointed that the bun was stale, and the meat was extremely salty, albeit tender. I am disappointed.

BEST Smoked BBQ in the city! The meat is smoked for 18 hours. Tender & juicy. Huge servings. Nice, clean and trendy atmosphere. Excellent service and friendly staff. Pop, iced tea & water. M-Thur 11-1:00.~ Fri 11-1:00 and 5:30-7:30 pm. Closed Sat & Sun ~ Half & whole slab ribs only available on Thur & Fri. Smoked brisket, smoked pulled pork & smoked turkey available all the time. Cheesy potatoes (his mother's recipe,) bbq beans & coleslaw along with pickles and jalapenos offered as sides. Homeade regular & hot BBQ sauce. The owner Lonnie, is the nicest guy around, too. He has many, many years of smoking meat and cooking experience. You won't be disappointed!

I was there with a group of coworkers and this was my first time at Lonnie always pass by that 21st and didn't it was there. I am just to Texas BBQ and KC BBQ but this place was really good. I have pork, turkey and ham, plus potatoes, coleslaw and ice tea. Sorry didn't have the pickles either halapeños. But the food was delicious. We even have the opportunity to see a popular tv weatherman in the next table. Sorry, I am authorized to use his name and station where he works. I will visit this place again and again.
