Almost ten years ago, a friend introduced me to The Royal Tea Room. I immediately fell in love. The shop and dining room are beautifully decorated. The ambience is both romantic and quaint. The dining room service is impeccable. And the food and tea are second to none.
The proprietor, Ms. Denise, is a culinary genius, who hand makes almost everything. The three tier tea server is filled with delectable bites. Below is a description of yesterday's goodies.
The tea of the day was Strawberry Kiss, a black tea with notes of chocolate and strawberry. With or without amber sugar crystals, it was magnificent! The toffee scones on the first tier were perfection; warm and moist, with just a hint of crunch. The clotted cream and preserves were the perfect accompaniments. And the savory tier. Oh my! The mini cucumber sandwich was delicious; containing the perfect balance of dill and creaminess. The chicken salad croissant was simply divine; crunchy and curried! And the three cheese tartlet was beyond perfection; decadent and smooth. The dessert tier was anchored by a mini cupcake, topped with the best buttercream frosting I've ever eaten. The chocolate cup was coated with Chantilly cream and filled with fresh fruit. And the mini apple pie! Oh behave!
I've been to several other tea houses in the Tampa area, and can say with confidence - The Royal Tea Room and Gift Shoppe is the best! Treat yourself!!
I have been visiting the Tea Room for almost two decades. Every visit is different and special, but with the same level of exceptional service and deliciousness. I enjoy the "tea" experience and often seek out tea rooms where ever I travel. I've yet to find a place that lives up to Denise's insanely tasty food. And the tea is also SO good! Without a doubt, the Royal Tea Room & Gift Shoppe is a true gem of Tampa.

The ambiance was lovely, the food was very tasty, the presentation was crafty and beautiful. I love the edible orchid. That was a unique touch. They didn't skip a bit with tea refills. The music was just right. The gift shop has lots of great, unique gifts. I bought several items after a delightful lunch. I would highly recommend The Royal Tea Room.
I threw my best friend a baby shower here this afternoon and it was everything I wanted for her and more. The food was absolutely delicious. The tea tasty! They were so accommodating! The tea room itself is beautiful and shoppe was fun! I will be recommending everyone I know to this place.
Happy to support them on Small Business Saturday! Scrumptious three tier tray of sweets and savories! Their cucumber sandwich and orange cranberry scones with clotted cream is to die for!
Absolutely enjoyed everything offered for our afternoon respite. Could not get enough of the clotted cream. So good. And the scones...seriously...best I have ever tasted!
This was our first time going. We weren't aware that reservations were required because they make everything from scratch based on the number of patrons they have booked. The owner/manager was very nice and accommodated our party of 3 which was nice. She was also very considerate of my mom who now has to use a walker. Though is was rather expensive the food was really good as was the tea. We all raved about the scones with jam and clotted cream. Our waitress was really nice too. While it's not an eatery you would go consistently like on a weekly basis because of the price, if you are looking for a unique experience, it's definitely well worth it. Just make sure you make a reservation ahead of time
A dear friend introduced me to the Royal Tea Room & Gift Shoppe in 2008. I have been a dedicated customer since. The tea is delicious and the food is second to none. The proprietor is an absolute genius in the kitchen. From the freshly made scones, to the cucumber sandwiches, to the chicken salad croissants, to the mini cupcakes...every single item is absolutely delectable. Whether you dress up or dress down, having tea is here is always a wonderful experience. Treat yourself!
Food was yummy, service was good. The only thing I didn’t care for was that the lady helping us, (she never gave us her name) didn’t leave the tea pot at the table. She came over to the table frequently to refill our tea but each time we felt like we had to pause our conversation. Would much rather liked to have the teapot at the table. Otherwise nice
Love, love, love the tea room. Came here for my coworkers birthday and had a great time. The ambiance, food and genuine hospitality makes this place a real treat. I would recommend this location especially for mothers day, a girls hang out or even for a Sunday get together. Enjoy :)
I was introduce to this place for my Bridal Shower my co-workers organized for me a few months back. I didn't know this place existed but felt in love with it from the moment I walked thru the doors, we had tea in the back room in a peaceful environment and I felt in love with the Tea they had for the day which is called "Savanna Gardens" a blend you will only be able to find here and a blend I cant get tired off. I have gone back since then to get this specific Tea for work and home and I always find so much peace in the few minutes I spend in there. The lady in the cashier is a sweetheart and its always a pleasure to see her.
Beautifully decorated from the entrance all the way to the tea room. The tea was delicious, the food was beautifully presented and the service was on point. We had a fabulous first time experience and will definitely be back.
