Bar Bleu

Coolest cats in town. Edit: There are not words in the language English to describe the awesomeness of these people. I have never in my life been able to flirt over the works of Jeremey Bentham. There is no other place in the world where you could have a stupendous, Vegas-style drink and also discuss the nuances of the French Revolution. Trust me, I’ve been to every other bar in town and there are none better.

What bothered me most about this eating and drinking establishment. Six of us ordered basic burgers. After 45 minutes, we still had no food. Then when the first two burgers came to the table, they were barely warm and the fries were cold. Then ten minutes later the next two came out, moderately better. Fifteen minutes later, the last two came out, cold!!! One went back to the kitchen and we just gave up. Lousy service. On a "game" day. Really. Not the best way to run a business!!!

In college, Bar Bleu was one of my favorite bars to be with my fiance on the weekends (Especially game days). However, this past weekend for Blue and White, we stopped by for some fishbowls on Saturday night after the game. The bar was very crowded, and I 100% understood the bartender was very busy. Some people were patient, and others I could understand the bartender's frustration. However, as the night progressed, he became ruder and and more aggressive to his customers. Several strangers I spoke to complained about waiting 30+ minutes for him to even look their way. He paid attention to specific customers most of the night and was rude to the other 70%. Toward the end of the night, when my fiance received a drink from him, the bartender told him to "look him in the eyes" when he's talking to him. Not trying to start a fight, my fiance began to walk away with the drink. The bartender grabbed the fishbowl out of his hand, spilling a good amount of the drink on my fiance's shirt. My fiance, obviously upset, voiced his opinion about how rude he had been. He and I were immediately thrown out of the bar. This was extremely unprofessional, and just downright rude. This used to be one of our favorite spots while attending the school. I am now very hesitant to visit this establishment again.

On Tuesday night one of the bar tenders was racist and didn't want to serve me because I spoke and he noticed my accent; there is no other explanation given the fact that I was polite at him all the time. He is tall, blond hair, has a Texas tattoo on the back part of his left arm and his right arm is all tattooed as well. You better fire that dude and teach him how to respect people.

The bouncer put his hands on me without any words and then proceeded to cuss at me after I pushed his hand off even though he did not say he was a bouncer or even associated with the bar. He also was flirting with a girl instead of paying attention to his job and customers. He was extremely unprofessional and therefore caused this review. I usually don't put out bad reviews, but this bouncer was the worst I've ever dealt with. Never returning to this bar again.

I was not please with the staff of this bar. Bartenders are rude and using profanity. Bouncers where not great either trying to start fights and cause trouble. I come from a family in local business and we would never put up with this in our business. If they worked for us they would be fired immediately.

This place has a staff member (who is not a bouncer) that literally picks fights with customers and everybody there must know it because he seems to exist to get into petty verbal arguments and throw out customers. I have not been thrown out or banned yet but I saw a pretty sober girl on her 21st B-day thrown out by him for "putting [her] hands on him" which was in fact a slight touch while she was apologizing for standing in the servers' part of the bar. And this person has also gotten into near-physical fights with the nicest friends of mine for no logical reason. Beware that guy. You will know him because he's a busy body who never smiles
