My first time here. In Mississippi for a game at MS. I honestly dont see how this spot is rated as " the best". This food was dreadful..no flavor, heavily FRIED and greasy. Hush puppies were sugary and onion rings were so greasy Iiterally tasted no onion.. catfish again no flavor. I was not even impressed. The shrimp also lacked flavor and had terrible batter.. They need to cook w/ more love. Season your food! This IS the south isn't it!

First time eating at The Little Dooey. Outside makes you feel like your truly eating at a great BBQ Restraunt. The cashiers at the front were you place your order were nice but not the first impression you would want for a 5 star. School had just started Monday so I will let that slide. They were helpful with advice on what to order. I had the 1/2 chicken, corn salad, Fried Okra with a side of there Buffalo sauce.
Smoked chicken was cooked perfect!! Corn salad was very very good!! Okra is okra you can not mess it up. There version of Texas toast was really good.
Only negative was after I set down in the back bar with no AC I never seen or heard from a staff
member !! Price is very reasonable for a BBQ restaurant!! I would recommend this place!!

I stopped by Starkville on my way back to New Orleans from West Point last Wednesday about an hour before closing time. I heard good things about this restaurant so I thought I would give it a shot. The place was clean and homey like a country store. The guy at the register was polite and answered all of my questions. He recommended the blackened shrimp cheese fries so I ordered them along with pulled pork, okra, toast, sausage and greens. The food was hot, well seasoned, and tasty. Well, what I was able to eat...
I would give this restaurant 5 stars, but an employee threw away my blackened shrimp cheese fries when I got up to refill my drink. So I paid like 15 bucks for something I didn't even get to eat. If someone at the restaurant reads this then I would appreciate a refund on the food your employee tossed without telling me.

I had the Oyster PB and a side of sausage. Yes I know that is a weird combo... It was very good but could have used some tarter or other condiment. I'll know next time. It is a very unique place and atmosphere.

They catered my wedding and everything was phenomenal! Great communication, price and service, with amazing food! We received so many compliments. Will definitely use them for catering again!

Food was amazing. Great place to stop and eat on our way back to MO. Catfish is out of the world good. The grilled cheese sandwich is awesome. The people were very nice and helped us figure out what to get. Thank you for the great dining experience for my family

A typical southern style, self- service eatery, famous for It’s BBQ and catfish. Love their pulled pork or brisket or the fried fish. The meat is so tender, that you can cut it with a plastic knife. Most of the time, they are pretty crowded. You might get trouble with parking. It seems, it was somebody’s house, turned into a restaurant. So the interior and the layout is bit different. May be because of that, the inside is little smelly! However, must visit if you are around.

Good food. The line was very long. The coke machine was out of syrup. We ate outside. It’s a nice atmosphere.
