Fried catfish battered and slathered with a creamy sauce loaded with crawfish is an excellent dish. It's a large plate and could feed two. Grilled mahi with brussel sprouts was ok, but the catfish is the dish to have if you are here. If you want dessert have the king cake but pass on the bread pudding, which seemed a bit rubbery in texture. Service was very good. Fast and efficient.

Horrible experience since we walked in. The table we sat on was wobbly. The waiter took forever to attend our table and the place was not busy. When ordering the waiter never asked how I would like my steak cooked. The food took a veryyyy long time to come out of that kitchen, and when it finally came it was disgusting. The appetizer tasted so bad and the steak was so tough and cold on the inside almost raw. It was a total rip off to eat at this place. Poor service and overpriced low quality food. Avoid at all costs.

First time at Restaurant Tyler this weekend. We got the spinach dip appetizer and it was the best dip I think I’ve ever had. Very flavorful, warm spinach dip and the fried tortilla chips served with them were great by themselves. I got the shrimp and grits and the grits were cooked perfectly with the right amount of creamy cheese. The bacon wrapped shrimp were very flavorful. My wife got the fried chicken and she said it was very moist and among the best she’s had. We finished with the “pancake” dessert and it was very good as well. Our server Ashley was very attentive and prompt with any requests. We drove an hour to try Restaurant Tyler for something different and we will definitely be back! Excellent experience!!

Our son is a Sophomore at Miss. State, and our family have dined here on three separate occasions. We were told by the locals that this was the best restaurant in town, and we would not disagree. This restaurant may seem a little pricey for Starkville, but if you are from a larger town then the pricing will feel quite reasonable and well worth it.
Every dish which we've had was wonderful -- no one in our family has ever had any reservations about any course or aspect of their meal.
The atmosphere is intimate, but also inviting. I love the tiled floors, and exposed brick walls.

Will definitely return. We started with the okra appetizer which was a hit. Our meals were guilty pleasures this visit, and we were not disappointed. (shrimp and grits, pork belly pasta, and fried chicken with Mac & cheese). We were welcomed at the door with great service throughout.

I just wanted everyone to know why I am giving a 1 star review to Tyler's. This is for a takeout order from Saturday, 1-15-22. Here is the description of the Duck entree on their menu:
Reverse-seared duck breast over Cajun creamed corn with fig mostarda, roasted beets, and Cambazola cheese and beet mousse, garnished with crispy duck skin and fennel pollen
Take a look at the pic and see if that comports with their description. There were no roasted beets or cheese, and you will observe the paltry helping of corn. This is not the first time I've gotten an incomplete order from Tyler's. This restaurant purports to be upscale and has higher than average prices. This duck dish costs $26. I feel like I've been mugged.

So far my favorite restaurant in Starkville. I've been several times and the service has always been great, and quick. Last night my husband and I got the crawfish dip as an appetizer and it was delicious. You should package the chips and sell them in the store. I got jambalaya pasta as my entree and it was spicy, and flavorful. My husband also loved his steak! Thanks for a great dinner!

Their specialties and the atmosphere is great. Innovative menu. Best fried chicken I've ever had.
Service is slow and servers are understaffed.
Steaks are very average. Ordered a rare NY strip. Received a medium rare with a cold exterior and had to ask for them to warm it up. Also, the steaks are advertised as wagyu, but mine was actually very lean, which was a disappointment. My friend ordered the ribeye, and it was a disappointingly thin 0.5inch cut. No steak should be less than 1inch thick.
Chimichurri was primarily oil and not the more leafy texture that it should be.
Overall, pretty good restaurant with excellent specialties. Would benefit from stepping up their steak game (THICKER steak, higher quality cuts) and service speed. Coordinate with the kitchen to ensure food is served hot.
