Great family restaurant. The food is excellent and the service is very good too.
A hidden gem of a greasy spoon. Service fast and friendly. Ground beef and olive empanada was piping hot and perfectly flaky. Authentic Cuban sandwich with solid fries. Jambalaya (special) was uncommonly good for the price. Only one shrimp, but I thought it would just be chicken so *added bonus* I guess. Overall my favorite spot for breakfast/lunch in the neighborhood.
Very good food, service was excellent this is a family owned establishment. Where it appears that the staff really knows the regulars and there appearsto be many of them. The owner being involved with the day to day operation purchases only the best ingredients.

Honestly such a great place! I live three minutes away and just found this gem a few weeks ago… and have gone multiple times each week! Chelo makes traditional American diner food with a flare (breakfast and lunch, dinner twice a week) and also Latin dishes, so you get the best of both worlds. Restaurant and bathrooms always clean, staff is super friendly, and they know and love their regular customers. Perfect little spot!
I really can't think of a better place to start the day. We truly feel like more than customers when we walk through the door. Everyone from Sarah, Ange, and Jo Jo running the front, to the magicians with the spatulas, Chelo and Raul, and the man who keeps it all clean Dan, it is a well oiled machine! And the food.... come hungry, leave beyond happy!
First time visiting Chelo’s. Arrived at 8am for breakfast and sat by the windows looking out on Mayfield Road. Ordered the Chelo’s Skillet and it was a solid choice. The home fries were nice and crispy and it was chock full of sausage, peppers, onions, and melted cheese. Huge portion that I was unable to finish.
Really a 4.5, service was pretty good but could be a little better as far as following up. The food is pretty good little differences and how they do certain things but nothing too bad. The staff was family and this place is a true hidden gem.
