If you're downtown and looking for a quick sandwich or salad, this is the place to go. Friendly staff, decently quick turnaround (It's made right in front of you, so do temper your expectations!) and generally very fresh food. The soups are good though can sometimes be a bit oily. They also have a good selection of drinks, chips, as well as grab and go options.

I love this place! Other reviewers mentioned getting too little meat on their sandwich, while I always find that there's a little too much tuna salad on mine, if I don't ask for them to go light. So just watch them as they make the sandwich and ask for more/less if you want it. Other than that, the food is always fresh, and the salads are pretty good with par-for-the-course prices. I also like their mini breakfast sandwiches, and the rewards program saves me $2.50 once or twice a week.

This place is amazing!! I wanted a quick protein-filled breakfast and this place delivered! It's the Chipotle experience of breakfast where you can customize exactly what you want. Then grab a drink or snack from the other sections in the market, pay, and eat in their adorable little food court with perfect seating and a killer view! Very New York, very efficient. Also, the people were the kindest and totally made my day :)

The place is inside some businesses plaza, and it’s a small cafe that sells foods “to-go”. You can choose a very simple hot breakfast, or salad, or sandwich.

I Love Mel's Market! This place is great and is one of my default lunch spot in awesome downtown Seattle (bias yes!). 1st they have awesome menus with real food that is nutritious without weighing you down. They have made to order salads, sandwiches and these incredible gluten free quinoa powerbowels. Oh Yeah. They also make you sandwiches to order and have two homemade soups and chill con carne. All the menus have the ingredients clearly marked and they have a lot of gluten free options if that is what you are looking for. They have great system of serving a huge amount of people without it taking a long time. The owner Pam is the nicest person and keeps the place running smoothly. The staff there are extremely polite and friendly and when you go through checkout line the cashiers are always smiling and happy. They also have a customer loyalty program and you earn point with purchases that you can use as cash discounts on future purchases.

A good spot for a quick breakfast or lunch, they’re super friendly and quite busy. Slightly disappointed that I got a fish taco power bowl for lunch today and got back to class to find they forgot the fish!! Ha, otherwise a decent if expensive quinoa bowl! +1 star for the excellent response, no worries on the gift card but thank you for the kind sentiment!

Fast, fresh deli serving custom salads, sandwiches and protein bowls. Very affordable lunch specials and chefs always offer interesting options. Great selection of drinks and sides as well!

Very popular lunch spot, always crowded unless it's Friday when people work from home. I got the veggie sandwich today and was able to put avovado, hummus, lettuce, tomato, spouts, pickles, cucumbers, and cheese on it! So delicious!

There are mornings when I have to have my donut & drip coffee, and there IS NOT a better place than Mel's Market! They offer a coffee & donut combo special which is relatively cheap (currently $3.02 after tax), for a decent tasting coffee and quality donut. It used to be just under $3 but recently increased by 6 cents. I know, it's not gonna break the bank, but darn you inflation, you're starting to become a pain in my arse!!! I'm pretty certain their donut supplier is Top Pot Doughnuts -- it tastes like Top Pot. The choices are very limited but this morning they carried my ultimate favorite, Bavarian Creme! They didn't carry it before, this is the first time. I've always opted for the maple bar, which is my second favorite and Alan, my friend would always get the apple fritter. Yay, it makes me sooooo elated !!! I'm floating on the clouds right now :). Oh the coffee, I almost forgot about the coffee. They use Boyd's Coffee, which is founded in Portland, Oregon. It's a darker roast, has a bold taste with a hint of bitterness. It will definitely wake you up! It also pairs really well with the donut of your choosing. This place is essentially a 'mini market' with a strong focus on 'made to order' and 'create your own' breakfast & lunch (breakfast & lunch sandwiches, bacon, sausage, eggs, bagels, sandwiches and soups), menu items. They also offer select snacks, juices, sodas, prepared fruits, yogurt and other dairy items. In a sense it's a one-stop-shop when it comes to the things I've listed above. I had their burgers & fries before...it's good, not the best. However, it doesn't look like they serve it anymore. It's probably for the better so they can concentrate on the more popular and customer preferred food and products. I've also had their premade breakfast sandwiches and it wasn't very appetizing. It was dry and not very fresh. But, it looks like they've made some great upgrades since then, and now offers 'made to order' and 'create your own', and 'gluten free' orders. LOVE the upgrades! Excellent! It's popular, and gets especially busy during lunch time. The seating area (the ground floor of the Safeco Plaza Building), right next to it gets filled quickly as well. If you have any mail to drop off or quick post office errand to run, you're in luck! There's a small one on the northeast corner.

Better than a fast food burger for sure but not better than say a Red Robin's burger. Salads are great as well. Can be a pretty long line during lunch rushes but set up is very organized so the wait isn't unresonable unless you only have 30mins.
