The food and portions were so good! I got the shawarma plate, and my partner got the gyro plate. It's a cozy place inside; there are some benches outside too! The food was flavorful and super filling! I recommend this place; the owner is very kind and made me feel welcome!
Samir's was the highlight of my Seattle trip! So many options to choose from including many vegan-friendly dishes, authentic Lebanese delights and some very delicious garlic fries to boot! I highly recommend the rose lemonade, and definitely get one of the sampler plates for your first trip so you can enjoy all of the flavorful and comforting food. If the amazing food wasn't already enough, I would keep coming back for Samir's wonderful kind presence and excellent service. I can't wait for my next trip to Seattle, I won't ever come back without stopping at Samir's!
It's no wonder that Samir's one-man-show has been successful for 46 years. The food is fresh, flavorful, delicious -- and cheap. But on top of that, Samir himself is humble, gracious, and just a lovely person, welcoming everyone. What a treat to have his hummus plate drizzled with olive oil and sprinkled with sumac. And the gyros plate is full of flavor, served on rice and vermicelli, with pita bread and a salad with dressing like tzatziki sauce. The ambience is humble, but adorned with hand painted quotations like "Dear food, either stop being so delicious or stop making me fat!"
Samir’s Mediterranean Grill is a must if you’re walking down University District. The Falafel plate was a vegan’s paradise! An interesting mixture of oval patties, pitas and salad. The light rail station is close by if you ever want to stop by again.
Brought my friends here a few times and we all loved it. I love the falafel gyro and tried some of my friend's garlic fries which were also really good. The place is vegan friendly too. His homemade hot sauce is really flavorful (optional) and the rose water lemonade is absolutely to die for. Samir is very sweet, very kind, and an absolute delight to talk to. Not to mention funny. I highly recommend Samir's to anyone and everyone!
This little Hidden gem in the University District is a great place to get a great meal, loved the Gyro and fries I had. Just the right amount of meat, lettuce, and tomato. Fries were nice and crispy. Very affordable, and Samir is a friendly and gracious host. I will go back again when in the University District. Really close to the Light Rail Station. Give them a try, think you will like the food and service.
Samir is so wonderful, the food is amazing! He goes out of his way to make sure Glenn free food is safe, and even hunters me free dessert sometimes. He's been there for almost 50 years for a reason!
The picnic tables outside add a nice touch. The food was probably overpriced for the target market (college kids), but it was good (not exceptional). The shawarma could have had more flavor and was a little dry. The lettuce tasted old. Still we enjoyed our meal.
Best falafel I’ve ever had!! Perfectly crisp on the outside, moist and flavorful on the inside. I got the falafel sandwich (more of a wrap tbh), there was quite a bit of lettuce filling it and it could have used more sauce to add flavor to the rest of the wrap, but overall would definitely order again just with extra tahini.
One of the longest lasting restaurants in the u district. That's seeing a lot given that most of them are coming and going. Samir's food is just phenomenal and everyone I have invited to join me has loved it. His falafel is homemade not from powder like all these other outfits. Samir himself is just the most graceful host and wonderful human being. I have absolutely no reservation in recommending Samir's.
