Unassuming, inexpensive (by San Francisco standards), pay-then-eat lunch spot. I come here whenever I visit SFMOMA. (A much better experience than SFMOMA's own cafeteria.) My favorites at Soup Freaks are the freakin' healthy salad (true to its name) and beluga lentil soup (which is hearty and flavored by good sausage). Those are also good choices for my gluten-sensitive wife. My sister and brother-in-law approved of the freaky veggie sandwich, which looked delicious with a nice roll, lots of mozzarella, and an appetizing pesto.
Soup Freaks always seems empty. I hope it stays in business.

It's that rare place that manages to both have best quality food (all fresh and high grade) and an impressive variety. I've been going there for lunch for 5 years now and cannot praise it any higher. It is one of the best lunch spots in SoMA/FiDi

Soup Freaks. Very nice service but terrible food. If someone claims that healthy food needs to be bland or even completely tasteless, this would be a good example. Chicken was completely dry and soup tasted like water. I will not come back.

They warm their soups with an expresso machine. Chicken sandwich is hard to bite. No AC nor soda fountains. Go waste your money at subway not here.

Food was devote nothing special. There are better options in the area.
