Did you know there are 2 menus? One in English and the other in Mandarin Chinese. I was lucky to have a friend who can read and speak Mandarin, so we got some food specific to Chinese (less sweet). The food presentation was entertaining and the atmosphere was great as we sat outdoors under a heat lamp. The restaurant was full which means this is a really good place to eat with locals about. And so true- the food was excellent and there were no leftovers between the 3 of us!
Great casual noodle spot with very generous portions run by some Aunties. I got the Dan Dan noodles for $15. The noodles had a nice bite to them, and paired well with the slightly spicy and not too oily soup. They have a lot of other Chongqing regional noodles that I’m keen to try another time. Recommended.
Really enjoyed this place. Recommend the spicy beef noodles and bbq calamari. The beef was fall off the bone tender and calamari was perfectly cooked and seasoned with Cumin and spices. Both were very spicy so get the water ready!
I ordered meat sauce spicy noodle soup and dan dan noodle and beef tendon. It was delicious! They were very friendly and nice too! I have tried so many noodles and beef tendon menu before and they definitely have really tasty noodle and beef tendon! I really enjoyed it. I want to go back! 😊😊
A decent, low key and delicious Chongqing style restaurant. A papradise who love spicy dishes. Not too fancy but the tatse was super great. Also saw their intro outside the door that this restaurant was highly recommeded by a famous TV show on CCTV (Chinese official TV station) After trying their dishes, no wonder.... If you're ever lost in finding a decent, delicious Chinese food inside China Town. It is definitely a great restaurant to go. Highly recommend!
I have a super low spice tolerance, so when my friends and I decided to go to this place I was kind of hesitant, everything looked spicy and scary to me but when we ordered we were told that we can actually choose the spice level. I went with a little bit of spice and the flavor was nice and not too spicy Pretty crowded when we went but this is the kind of place where people finish their food and leave so didn't have to wait for a long time. Service is fast and food arrived very quickly.
Stumbled upon this place by chance when visiting San Francisco’s Chinatown. The food were really good! The Chongqing spicy beef tendon was one of the best Chongqing style beef tendon I have had in the States. The noodle bowl was also great! The portion was huge and it came with a huge beef rib.
Atmostphere wise, it is small typical of places around SF Chinatown and service was great! Price was reasonable for San Francisco especially for the huge portion
A must try for foodies! Very authentic Xiaomian! Food is great! Large portion and great value. Friendly service as well. We visited this restaurant every time we're in Chinatown. Take out service is also great. They'll carefully package your noodles. Appetizers are great for late night bites too. Be aware that Xiaomian is a type of spicy noodles, don't be surprised they're hot.
Chong-Qing-style numbing/spicy noodles of different varieties. Good quality. Fast service. Portion is very generous so if you come alone you don’t really need to order anything else other than a nice big bowl of noodles.
Delicious noodle dishes, a rarity for the experience to meet the hype in Chinatown!
Got the Dan Dan noodles, which were creamy and nutty, and tried the Wuhan dried noodles too, which were really great with the pickled veg.
Noodle texture was very good - just be mindful of eating quickly or choosing drier noodles to keep the chew.
