Definitely one of the best pick-up and to-go in North Beach, and reasonably priced. Their menu is tantalizingly difficult to choose from, but that's a good problem to have! Try whatever, but DEFINITELY STOP BY. I tried the pepperoni and the pepperoni and sausage. They were fantastic! ,
Quick service, staff is a bit aggressive, BUT it was great feeling like I was in NY. Trust me, it's a small spot, but the aesthetic and vibe are part of this places greatness! Enjoy like I did.

The slightly charred, cupped pepperoni are amazing! Fantastic crust with just the right mix of chewy and crispy. Great slices, if you have time, sit down for a coal fired pie next door at the main restaurant, Tony's Pizza Napoletana. It's no surprise why the owner Tony Gemignani constantly wins awards.

Hi first time here and this place is pretty damn good! And price is very reasonable as well just under 7 bucks for my slice, the price and quality of the pizza you would think it's not good for how much it is but this is some very good pizza. I've gotten a Margherita sliced pizza and let me tell you the bread quality from the pizza is amazing! Very soft and fulfilling. The size of it is pretty decent too I'd say it's a bang for your buck! Another thing I really liked about the Margherita pizza the pizza sauce is good as well as if I was thinking I was really eating spaghetti in a pizza. And they do not skimp on the pizza sauce, they put a great amount of sauce in it and quality of it A1 as well. I really liked it. Only reason why I put it as a 4 star was because maybe if the mozzarella cheese on the pizza would be more hot and more melted onto the pizza it would probably make it 10 times better. Other than that I rate this pizza a 9/10 I highly recommend others to try the Margherita pizza if you really like just pizza sauce and mozzarella cheese in your pizza. Another thing I tasted from that pizza was the basil too it smelt amazing and tasted great 👍 this is great quality pizza and if I were to come visit San Francisco again I will come back here most definitely!

Pizza and cheese bread were really good! The options of sauces with the bread were delicious. Pizza was great, especially the cheeses. Pricey though

Amazing floppy NY slices - hits the spot. Service is a bit slow for 1 slice, but understandable with the volume they have. Pizza sauce and cheese are awesome. Price per slice is slightly high.

Perfection! Tony can drop the mic. A better Pizza just does not exist. The coccoli is to die for. Teresa and staff made us feel so welcome.
Wife enjoyed a busing for dessert. Avoided the wait by showing up on a weekday for lunch.

Had the New Yorker, in San Francisco, and it's amazing!
- Right amount of spice (from the sausages)
- Generous toppings
- Perfectly melted cheese (stretchy but not messy)
- Solid (but not overly thick) crust for civilized handling of such a big pie
If the take-out is this good, wonder what it's like in the sit-in restaurant next door.
Worth the queue we wonder 🤔

I recently had the pleasure of visiting Tony's Coal Fired Pizza & Slice House in San Francisco, and I must say it was a delightful culinary experience. Located in the heart of the city, this cozy pizzeria offers a unique twist on traditional pizza by cooking their pies in a coal-fired oven. Here's my review of the place.
First and foremost, the atmosphere at Tony's is warm and inviting. The interior is adorned with vintage photographs and rustic décor, creating a charming and nostalgic ambiance. The staff members were friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu, which added to the overall pleasant dining experience.
Now, let's talk about the star of the show—the pizza. Tony's coal-fired pizzas are simply outstanding. The crust is thin, crispy, and perfectly charred, thanks to the intense heat of the coal oven. It provides a satisfying crunch with every bite, and the smoky flavor infused into the crust adds an extra dimension to the overall taste. The toppings were fresh, flavorful, and generously portioned, showcasing the quality ingredients used in every pie.
One of the highlights of Tony's is their wide selection of pizza varieties. Whether you prefer classic Margherita, meat lover's, or more adventurous combinations, they have something for everyone. The menu also offers a range of specialty pizzas with unique flavor profiles that will undoubtedly satisfy even the most discerning pizza aficionados. Additionally, they offer gluten-free and vegan options, ensuring that everyone can enjoy their delicious pizzas.
Aside from their whole pizzas, Tony's also offers pizza by the slice. This is perfect for those looking for a quick bite or wanting to sample multiple flavors. The slices are generously sized, with a thin crust and a great balance of sauce, cheese, and toppings. It's an excellent option if you're on the go or simply want to try different flavors without committing to a whole pie.
In addition to their fantastic pizzas, Tony's offers a selection of appetizers, salads, and desserts. Their garlic knots are a must-try—they are soft, buttery, and infused with just the right amount of garlic flavor. The salads are fresh and well-crafted, providing a lighter option to complement the pizzas. As for the desserts, the tiramisu is a standout choice, with its velvety texture and rich espresso flavor.
One thing to note is that Tony's can get quite busy during peak hours, so making a reservation or arriving early is advisable to avoid waiting for a table. However, the lively and bustling atmosphere only adds to the charm of the place.
In conclusion, Tony's Coal Fired Pizza & Slice House in San Francisco is a gem for pizza lovers. The combination of their coal-fired oven, quality ingredients, and extensive menu options makes for an exceptional dining experience. Whether you're looking for a cozy dinner with friends, a quick slice on the go, or simply craving authentic and delicious pizza, Tony's is a definite must-visit in San Francisco.

This is good pizza. Healthy sized meatlovers slice was a good value. If you ate in this part of town and you like good pizza this is a great place to grab a slice. The sit down side looked very busy so I got a slice to go and ate it in the park across the street.

Pizza had a great crust and fresh ingredients. The cheese was really flavorful and I liked the more creative "Boise" pizza as well. However, for my personal taste, there was a lack of sauce on the sausage/pepperoni and the Boise pizza slices that I had. I usually eat Sicilian style so maybe I'm used to a more balanced ratio because of that, but I was a little disappointed because it felt a bit dry and painful in the roof of my mouth when I was finishing up my second slice.

Talented ladies. Pepperoni pizzas cooked just right. They take your selected slice and toss it back in the oven to heat it up.
