Tii Leos Mexican food is one of the best Mexican food restaurants around in Carmel Valley 92130. No frills, nothing fancy but good authentic food, large portions & reasonably priced. Who needs a fancy mexican restaurant with awful tasting food when you can have the best. Hands down Tio Leos is the best. Good tequilla too.
Regardless of what I have to say, I must give Tio's a 5 star rating. We went to your newest location, the Cantina in Poway this past Saturday, but will tell you we will not be going back. The food was excellent along with the service, but does not have the warm feel or atmosphere that the other locations have. Guess it I am spoiled but it is not the same as what we are used to. I have loved Tio Leo's since the day they opened in Mira Mesa. We need you to come back please.
I had a crispy quesadilla and it was delicious! The young waitress was really sweet and amiable. I would go back!
1. Crispy quesadilla
2. Strawberry margarita (poor lighting... looks orange!)
This place is amazing for a quick bite or some drinks. Relax here and have fun with the whole experience with the live band. This is more of a white person type of country folk, but always friendly and amazing. The drafts on beer are short but they're good. The mixed drinks are much to be desired. Overall great place to host family and friends or events. Or to just come down for a great night. I highly recommend.
This was my first visit to Tio Leos. I was there for lunch
The food was pretty good. The service was friendly and helpful-once I finally got their attention. The margaritas were tasty, not too weak nor too strong. The prices for lunch seemed a little high. I didn't see any signage or notices of lunch specials but I was hoping that there might be some offered during lunch.
I don't know if I'd visit Tio Leo's again but it was good that I finally stopped by for a meal.
This is an epic local San Diego Mexican restaurant that has been around longer than I can remember! The food is always delicious.
We go for the Sunday nite jazz which is wonderful. More survalence needs to happen to keep the talkative folks from spoiling the music. We appreciate what holly has done but I believe we need to push this limit further.
Becoming one of my favorite bars. The bands are always stellar, the place is clean, Leonard the bartender is super sweet and tentative, everyone who comes is there for the love of music and dance, can't ask for more!
This is our first time in this restaurant. We went because our favorite local band BetaMaxx was playing. We ate at the bar and our server was awesome. She was very friendly and attentive. We had the carnitas plate and it was tasty. The bus boy was very attentive and gave us complimentary chips and salsa right away. The band was awesome and glad we went.
Great bar, good food. Straight forward traditional Mexican food 😋 nothing fancy but I have always enjoyed the food. Been eating there for years.

I dinned in the Tio Leo’s, the service was OK. The food was great. The atmosphere was fun. The band playing in the other room was very loud though and you could hear it in the restaurant part and it was only dinner time. I guess it was an early bird show food was great again and the atmosphere was OK so I’m gonna give it a four out of five.
I went over because a.San Diego event site said that they had salsa music and dancing there on Mondays only to find out that they do not do that anymore. We ate there anyway and split the plate that had cheese enchilada, Chile relleno, tostada, and taco. It was a good sample and was definitely shareable.
