The ambience was amazing. We ordered butter chicken which was average, chicken momos were authentic and seemed freshly made and veg pakoras were good too.
Overall the food was good. Would like to try some other dishes sometime when I am back here.
Amazing food. I came around lunchtime, and they offered lentil soup, which was great! I ordered the chicken momos, malai kofta, and garlic Naan. Everything was superb
Service was very poor. So cutting one star for that.
But everything tasted very good. We ordered:
- Samosa- Hot and not oily. The potato and pea filling was rightfully balanced with flavor.
- French fries- Crispy, light on the oil. Very good.
- Daal Tadka - too good and smoky flavor. Glad that we ordered it.
- Garlic herbal Naan - Rightfully flavorful.
- Mix veg - This was not that good but maybe that’s how it is made and not the way we expect it to be
- Tandoori Paneer- Paneer could have been softer. Rest all was good.
I think I have found it the best Indian-Himalayan food in all of San Diego! I will sure to add this to my go to places on the weekends! The staff here is some of the nicest I have encountered in all of San Diego and very helpful.
Something you do not see in other restaurants is the statement "Please ask us about anything you would like that is not in our menu. We can make it for you." That is great! Also the food is just amazing we got our Chicken Biryani as a 8 for spiciness which was recommended by the staff since there food is very spicy to begin with, but for us it wasn't to bad since we love spicy food so they gave us "911 sauce"! What can I say the 911 sauce is the best! It starts off calm and and then it sneaks up on you and makes that 8 level spiciness look like nothing!
The restaurant is very clean along with the restrooms. The restaurant has two seating areas along with some wonderful lighting and music.
Such an unexpected surprise. This is a charming restaurant and the food....the most amazing food. The garlic naan was superb. Truly a fantastic restaurant!
I ordered it for delivery and got the Himalayan Biryani and the Lamb Biryani. Both were actually really good. Very distinct flavors, cooked just right, nice blend of raisins and vegetables. The Himalayan Biryani was a nice mix of lamb and chicken, but only one piece of shrimp. Small container of Raita. I have ordered here a few times and this was definitely the best of those. I would recommend the Himalayan Biryani.
Amazing food. They had a large group in the restaurant the night we were there but they worked quickly and efficiently. I plan to eat here when I am in San Diego again. Highly recommend.
I love Indian food, and this food was overall pretty good. I will say, the flavor was good, but different from what I expected.
We ordered the vegetable samosa, lintel soup, butter chicken and chicken tikka masala and of course cilantro garlic naan.
The Samosa was great, love the sauces that come with it. The lintel soup was delicious! The flavors of the butter chicken and Tikka masala. They were more sweet than Spicy, but still overall great flavor.
A vegan taste treat!
What a nice find for authentic and spicy Tibet and Indian food. The dinner started with a bowl of yellow Dahl soup that was exquisite. The lentils were done just right and the soup was tasty but not overpowering.
The next appetizer was the Samosa and it was fresh and hot and healthy. It was was baked to perfection, much better than fried. The shell was crunchy and the inside potato, onion and pea filling was rich and tasty. We asked for the spicy mint chutney which was excellent and the tamarind sauce was really great too.
My wife had Vegetable Byriani and it was a huge portion. The flavor and texture was great although she thought it was too hot and liked it mixed about 50/50 with my steamed white rice.
My dish was the Sag Aaloo and I got it a spicy level 5. That was perfect for me, really quite a bite to it but with an incredible richness due to the spinach and potato. Over the white rice the combination was super good.
We ordered Raita bread and specifically asked for no butter. They brought us it just right, plain and crunchy and healthy. Great for dipping in the curry or chutneys.
I liked the server and although expensive the portions are very large. They're setup for take out leftovers and I know I'll enjoy the them tomorrow. All in all I'd return to have this exact meal but there were 3 or 4 other vegan dishes that looked great too. I think a large bowl of the Dahl might be next.....
I was around the neighborhood and I decided to have my dinner there, at first when I parked I didn't expect a cozy restaurant, it was. I like the vibe, the staff is friendly and helpful but be careful when they ask about the spice level 😋, I have attached the pics.
