So enjoyable on a Monday morning, practically all to ourselves. We have been many times over the years and the food rarely dissapoints.
I always enjoy the bacon there. It's baked and smoky taste is a must no matter which breakfast I choose. Obviously known for the waffles, but the bacon...
The decor is a little 60"s with music playing from the 80's. Colorful drawings by children of the restaurant mascot, King Waffle, line the ceiling edges around the restaurant.
It's generally a longish wait on weekends, so hit them up on a week day for a relaxing meal. Hours are short. 7 to 1pm. Takeout not until 730am. Plenty of parking generally. Menu just one single sheet, not to confuse you like an Ihop.
If you have kids, they offer crayons and a game/coloring sheet. They also have a short kids menu.
Go, tell them Chris sent you. When they ask who Chris is, tell them you have no idea. Then the first one to laugh, wins.
Solid breakfast spot at the King's Inn. We didn't want to go anywhere far from where we were staying and decided to try The Waffle Spot out. Lorena was our server on Saturday and she was fantastic. Jesus was our server on Sunday and he was awesome. The other staff working both days were also friendly, helpful, attentive and caring. Receiving this type of service at this smaller, more old school establishment was delightful and a nice surprise. I don’t usually go to diners often and enjoyed the experience here.
I can also tell the chef and his staff put care into the food. We ordered:
* Healthy Options, a white egg omelet with spinach and mushrooms, comes with tomato and egg.
*I tried the Healthy Options with nopales (cacti) plus tomato and egg the following day and it was delicious!
* Denver Omelet with cheese and sausage, and country potatoes
* Blueberry waffles
Definitely would recommend this place if you're looking for a quick bite and are staying close by in the hotel circle area!
Pros: Food was delicious. I ordered Sweet Potatoe waffles with bacon. Great customer service from server.
Cons: We were a party of five and had to wait for a table. My friend's daughter and her husband were on their way from dropping off rental car. Our party waited about 15 minutes to be seated. Once our table was readyWe were told that we couldn't get a table for us all to sit together. About 15-20 mins later, the couple arrived, and they sat at the counter. I was in town for their wedding and I was leaving that day. It was disappointing not to have a meal with the newlyweds.
Accessibility: Wheelchair accessible restaurant, parking, and bathrooms.
Experience: I am not a waffle person, and I LOVED my double chip waffle platter! I'm a new fan of this restaurant! My party of 2 people waited 26 minutes to be seated, and then Sylvia took our order. Once we ordered, it only took 10 minutes to make 2 meals. Very fast! Our meals tasted incredible! The waffles are thick and fluffy, with the perfect amount of crunch. They were warm so my chocolate chips melted on top. It was the right amount of sweetness and flavor, that I did not add any maple syrup onto it. The eggs were alright, not my favorite, but the sausage was good! My wife loved her meal, too. She got the apple cinnamon waffle platter. The inside was cute too! I will definitely be back.
Cost: expensive, but worth it if you love waffles. For 2 meals and 2 waters, it cost $40 before tip, and $47+ with a tip (depending on the amount you tip).
We had John as out server and he was absolutely fantastic, very personable, super friendly, and he was always checking on us to see if we needed anything and answering all of our questions. The food was delicious! We didn’t wait too long for our food after we had ordered. Wonderful experience!
Came across this wonderful gem offering fantastic breakfast options at an unbeatable price. The staff was not only friendly but also incredibly helpful, providing great local recommendations and insightful tips about navigating the area's traffic.
My friend and I were hungry and wanted to eat breakfast before heading out to TJ. We looked for restaurants in the area and noticed the high ratings and close proximity of the Waffle Spot to our room and decided to try it out. There was no line for waiting and we were seated right away. I had the Banana Nut Waffle and my friend had the Churro waffle plate (side’s definitely enough for two). The food was delicious and the service was excellent! John, our server, was very attentive and extremely personable. If you’re ever in the area, I highly recommend stopping by!
Friendly service, delicious breakfast, significant portions, and open on Christmas morning!
Waffles are delightful! Went with the Grandkids, couldn’t ask for any better or customer service. So good with young kids (under 5).
Who doesn't want to eat at 'Spot' with a giant King Waffle outside? Inside the space has a retro theme with a great color scheme. The staff were all amazing. Helpful, attentive, pleasant. Food was out fairly quickly, even though they were fairly busy. The red velvet waffle was crazy good.. adding eggs, bacon, and sausage to make it a platter was almost too much food! I will say that they're a bit overpriced for breakfast foods..even by Cali standards. Overall though.. highly recommend.
