Papa Nono's Mexican Grill

Not a Big Nono's. This restaurant is definitely not a big Nono's (couldn't resist the pun). It is a nice clean little decamesa (my word for a restaurant with ten tables or less) though. Prices are very reasonable, but the food does not come exactly like you are expecting it to even though the waitress had told us that they can cook it however we like it and it was described in detail to the waitress who claims she passed the info along to the Spanish speaking only cook.
Something got lost in the translation.
My wife and I prefer nachos that are not piled up then coated with beans and cheese as there are always chips with nothing on them. Much prefer the individually made. That explanation was for naught and piled it was. We then asked that beef enchiladas be substituted for cheese - that part went well - and that the enchiladas be smothered in a chili con carne gravy tex-mex style - that part bombed. What we got were some pretty good beef stuffed enchiladas topped with cheese. O.K. - - - too bad too as the tortillas were heated in broth before they were filled so that they are flavorful and tender; would have been killer with the tex-mex gravy! Oh well. Rice and beans were good as were the very succulent chicken puffy taco and gordita with a light, non-greasy masa.

The waitress was new and became a little frustrated when we told her of the "piled" and "tex-mex gravy" snafus. She was giving it the ole alma mater try and that was commendable. She was nice enough and it really wasn't a big problem. She might want to learn the menu a little better and improve communications with the cook so that this little "hole-in-the-wall" (with some pretty decent food) avoids ending up as a big nono on diner's lists of places to eat.

Very friendly atmosphere and the food was very tasty. 100 % service!

Well Sandra's review below me isn't even for this location, so that should be removed. This place has amazing food both quality and quantity for hardly anything. Prices are all amazing and they EVEN DELIVER!!! Awesome place that's been here for awhile. And this is on HILDEBRAND if that's not obvious. Customer below I guess couldn't take the time to make a complaint for the right store. So I wouldn't take their complaint serious

The tortilla soup is one of the best in town! Friendly staff! Reasonable prices! We are regulars and we highly recommend Papa Nono's!

THIS PLACE HAS GOOD FOOD WITH GOOD PRICES AND THEY DELIVER!!!! ITS HARD TO GET AWAY FROM WORK AT THE CAR LOT SO I JUST CALL PAPA NONOS AND HOT FOOD IS DELIVERED!!! CANT GET BETTER!!! ANDY @LUNA CAR CENTER.

Amazing tortilla soup! Really delicious. Very cheap here too. Waitress was very nice.
