You have to say you’ve been at least once. Atmosphere and historical aspect is 5-star. Love the cozy feel and mahogany wood. We went for the first time on a Friday afternoon for a drink. It was a nice experience and would definitely go back.

This is one of my favorite bars anywhere. Just the history alone is worth walking in. Always love to have a Stella Artois or 2 here, and enjoy the balcony overlooking the bar. The moose and me…..we have a few stories to tell, and a few secrets not to.

1 very good and free Merlot. Wifey is not a a connoisseur so mixed Diet Coke into it and ruined it but till then it was very good! The picture includes the guilty one.

We went to the Menger Bar as soon as we arrived in San Antonio and were checked into our room at the Menger Hotel. We were not very hungry and decided to split a cheeseburger. It was cooked to order and amazing! My husband got a Bloody Mary and I got a Margarita on the rocks and both drinks were delicious! The bar atmosphere was pub-like and just like what you would expect in a historic hotel. The staff were super friendly and our food arrived much sooner than we expected. It was a lovely way to kick off our time in San Antonio.

Justin is one of the best downtown Bartenders! He's been serving chilled cocktails for decades and has excellent recommendations for nearby activities and restaurants.
