Tried Poppy’s Pizza for the first time today and it was awesome! I had a small pepperoni pizza and slice of cheesecake. I am disappointed that I had not tried Poppys sooner. The pizza has the perfect ratio of sauce, cheese, and crust. I like my crust on the thinner side and this was perfect. Not too thin and not too thick. The cheesecake was the cherry on top! It was so fluffy and the perfect level of sweet. I can’t wait to go back and try more!
This pizza is HUGE, but the wings stole the show. Definitely recommend mixing mild and lemon pepper. The pizza dough was a bit soft, but overall good.

Poppys Pizza 🍕 is that place for me!
We’ve been coming here for years and have always had great food and service.
First off, this is a mom&pop establishment (owners are from NYC) not a lot of frills because they put effort where it counts- the food and ther service!
Y’all… I would already go in cagematch to support their cheesecake (generous slice, not too sweet, delicious crust) but I’m wrecked after their garlic rolls. And we’re going to reek of garlic for days. Spoiler: worth it
Six huge rolls for $6, covered in garlic and parmigiana and sitting in a bath of delicious garlic butter sauce. We’re safe from vampires for the foreseeable future.
Oh yeah, and the pizza? This isn’t a huge floppy slice(like $1pizza of NYC legend), but it’s delicious. Perfect ratio of sauce, good crust with a nice bite and not too much crust on the end (but helpful for scooping up more of garlic sauce from the rolls). The pepperoni and cheese were great- they use quality ingredients!
Note to self- this place is worth more frequent visits! (Their lasagna and calzones are delicious as well)
And if you’re on a budget, don’t miss the lunch special of two slices + drink for $7.95!
My wifey and I wanted to try a different pizza 🍕 place and buffet, and Poppys' version of a buffet was great, while the food was excellent 👌 😋 👍. Unfortunately, we didn't leave room for one of the well-known desserts because we decided to try out their wings, and wifey gives a big Thumbs up. She is a wing enthusiast, so that says something. @Poppys Pizza 🍕 😋 Highly Recommended!!!
First time trying this place. I got a margharita pizza and a cannoli to-go and loved them! I'm a little picky about pizza and almost only eat it in NY, and this pizza was just my type! Crispy and a perfect ratio of toppings. The cannoli was delicious. The service was great too!
I look forward to returning to try the cheesecake, wings, and garlic rolls.
AMAZING. Great food that is perfectly matched with incredibly friendly service. We were passing through and craving some good pizza by the slice. Stopped by here cause it was cheap and close. The price is such a deal with the size of the slices. We were pleasantly impressed by everything. I would recommend it to anyone in San Antonio, and would love to return again.
The Pizza was really delicious it came out hot and fresh and they use quality ingredients. I also got the garlic wings they were big and juicy with good flavor. I will definitely be back.

Always seems to be working on this side of town so decided to give Poppys a try. Must admit that it exceeded my expectations as the pizza was delicious and my cheese bread was on point. No real complaints about my meal and the staff is awesome. Only thing keeping them from my "Certified Mad Good " rating were the wings, as they definitely could have had more flavor. Overall a great pizza spot in San Antonio
first time here. everything was great - service, food, and dessert. the cheesecake needs it's own category. it's the best I've ever had! not too sweet, just perfect. the slice is sharing size. I had to practically wrestle my daughters for a few bites. I am looking forward to a future visit with the rest of my family. thanks to the workers for such a great experience.
