ITS SO FREAKING COOL!! I truly appreciated the decor in the Rest being a Coloradan! We walked into Bodega and asked for the Rest. We had to wait about 15 min then we're escorted downstairs. It was really cool and this place was a great stop. Definitely worth checking out! The cozy, warm ambiance in the Rest was very refreshing from crowded loud bars. We got the whiskey flight, and the bartender also made me an "allergy friendly" drink. I told our waitress the kind of things I liked and the bartender made a surprise, super cool and loved that they paid attention! The food was good as well. Not a huge meal but its good for snacking on something classy with a drink.

Only spent time at The Rest, it was lovely. Great food, knowledgeable waiters and bartenders. The new seasonal menu items were delicious.

This place looks absolutely amazing. I love the contrast between the almost tacky Bodega and the perfectly warm delicately decorated The Rest. Our host was super friendly and took great care of us. Such a nice vibe there, with great music coming from the vinyl player all evening. Only downside was that the menu legend suggested vegan options but there were none. One or two appetizers could be modified by removing cheese, but there was just one entree that was vegetarian only. Food was outstanding and looked absolutely fabulous the way it was served. High quality and very tasty. Cocktails (also non-alcoholic) were interesting and very pretty as well. Real nice experience of a classy speakeasy.

Brand new menu and the food is absolutely incredible! I used to come here because the speakeasy ambiance is so fun but now the food even exceeds how cool the place is! You can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. Daniel, the executive chef, came out to meet us and we all fell in love. His passion clearly shows in his menu options and his artful, flavorful choices. Unique, delicious, and perfect- something we seriously lack in Utah.

Came here for a date night, had the cheese and tomato starter which was very nice. Got the fried chicken and Mac and cheese as well, great crisp on the chicken could have used a bit more seasonings. Drinks were excellent, also got the absinthe fountain, always fun. Definitely a fun spot to go.

The rest is unreal, such great atmosphere! Food was really good and drinks were on point. This is a must visit for downtown. If you want the beer can chicken plan on a 40min wait (or call ahead on your reservation) Grilled cucumber was surprisingly good, chicken sandwich was extremely well executed

The new Executive Chef at the Rest, Daniel Moreland, has just changed the food scene in Salt Lake for the better. What an experience! Every dish, from the appetizers to the entrees, was phenomenal. I’m already planning my next time back to the Rest for another outing. Such a flavorful, visually appealing, and innovative menu. I can’t say enough good things.

I'm giving a 5 star for their drinks. Their food is good but I think the drinks are where they really shine. The old fashioned flight was amazing, we got the Coffee + Cherry, Black Walnut, and Lemongrass Cardamom bitters. All of them were great but we especially liked the Coffee + Cherry. The draft dodger is an excellent drink, and I always get aviations because they make them so perfectly there.

Daniel, now occupying the rest as the head chef is KILLING IT. All of his menu creations are unique and well crafted. The drinks and atmosphere are wonderful. Bring friends, eat great food, vibe. You won’t be disappointed.

What a charming place. I had walked by it a number of time, as I looked for a nice and classy restaurant, but never even considered it because of the appearance of the front. Of course, that's where the magic happens. We went here for a work dinner, and a colleaugue of mine who is local recommended it. Upon entering, we were led through a back door, down some stairs in a dark and mysterious hallway, and then emerged to the most beautiful, rustic, and charming little bar and dining area in the basement. The whole experience was mysterious, and very warm. On top of that, the food and service were great too! I had the fried steak (highly recommend) and of course the beer can chicken was great too.
