So many options here! My smoked chicken tacos were delightful. There is a large variety of seating (indoor, outdoor, and dog-patio). It was fun to eat on the patio under the beautiful fall colors and people-watch.
This place satisfied the vegan and the carnivores. Delicious food. I, the vegan, enjoyed the quinoa burger that included a side salad. Their in-house quinoa burgers are delicious with all the extras, as seen in the photo. I also ordered the chips and salsa with guacamole. The chips were thinner, and the salsa was a good mix with a smoke roasted flavor. The carnivores, my wife, enjoyed a bowl of green chili with their pretzel bites. The atmosphere is great and sits along the river. The windows open out to the river for a wonderful ambiance. The restaurant is clean and a great place for any occasion. We highly recommend this place as they serve a variety of delicious items.
There were two of us and we shared two appetizers-stuffed mushrooms and the pretzel bites-both were absolutely amazing! I’m not really a fan of bacon but, the stuffed mushrooms were so flavorful! I ordered a raspberry margarita and my goooodness it was so good and def had that pep for my step!! The French Dip I ordered for my entree was unreal 😍 Tender, crisp, cheesy, filling but, not greasy. That bread was what I imagine clouds feel like.
Our hostess was so sweet and had a genuine smile. Our server was so kind and prompt! It was a Monday around lunch time and relatively busy but, still seating available. The staff made me feel like my table was the only one there. We opted to sit on the outdoor balcony because it was a nice day out and the view of the river and mountains was really charismatic. They also have super cozy hoodies and tees for sale!
Next time I get to Salida- I will absolutely be back here!
Service is pretty slow despite the restaurant not being very filled up. The food was good but you delivered the appetizers after the meals and that was kind of annoying. I highly highly recommend the monarch sauce on the wings. I don’t know what that was (we tried asking but server was weird about it) but it’s delicious
Couldn’t believe this spot was real. Found ourselves in Salida on accident. Walked downtown and this spot sits RIGHT on the river. Waited 30 minutes. Which we laughed at (busy little spot for a tiny town). Wings, burger, tacos, all of it was awesome.
Really good place by the river. Everything we ordered was good. Chilli renellos, burritos, nachos. The veg burger was a little chewy but not bad. The location by the river makes this place totally worth it.
Great location on the river with fantastic food. The Americana burger was really tasty and the truffel fries were delicious
We had some good hamburgers it is very busy place good for them but it means you wait to get seated and wait to get served and wait to get your food make sure you have plenty of time
Anytime we are in a tourist district, we have low expectations. If past experience is any indication, it's typically low grade food, small portions, high prices, with spotty service. Well, we were pleasantly surprised with Boathouse Cantina. It's more than just a cantina in the typical sense. The outdoor seating next to the creek was refreshing, the jalapeño poppers wrapped in bacon was to die for, and the hamburgers were good. The reason for 4 stars in lieu of 5 was the host reception was a little less than friendly. Other than that, it was a good restaurant and we would go back again.
Wow, what more can I say? This is a great place to eat. I had the Best Chicken Strips Ever and let me tell you how juicy they were, nothing “not” amazing about them. The breading and everything, can definitely say they are on the top of my list. The House Made Chips were also seriously delicious 😋 😋😋. My husband had the Shrimp Tacos and he really enjoyed them as well. The restaurant is on the bank of the Arkansas River, very nice atmosphere. The road was blocked off for foot traffic so we just had to go up a few streets and make our way back and we’re able to get to the public parking at the end of the street. It’s worth a trip to me just to go there 👍.
