I just love this place! Everyone is so nice! The crowd is eclectic and friendly and all of the employees are top-notch! They have the best karaoke on Thursday!
Food was good, fast and priced fair. The service was really good. I would recommend it..
Friendliest staff around. Lisa is the best. We even got invited to their charity golf tournament and had a blast! Highly recommend. We loved living within walking distance from there and miss going there on the regular.
They have charbroiled burgers, which is a very nice positive and I really appreciate this place for that. If you only care for the food, don't recommend ordering on Thursday nights because they have karaoke nights starting at 9. I don't know if the booze is any good there, I only get to go orders and don't drink.
Just know that they're a smoking bar, so if you don't like that, you might want to try somewhere else. It's a small place and the smoke is hard to avoid, especially when busy.
Seems like a fun atmosphere if you're into dive bars, especially if you want to hear people try to sing your favorite songs on karaoke night.

We were looking for a place to watch the U.S.A. and England for the World Cup and couldn’t get in anywhere. We looked these guys up and pulled in. There was no one in the bar except Greg, the bartender and owners son. I was at first disheartens but Greg did everything to accommodate me and my family. The drinks were cold, and the food was great. We had a wonderful experience hanging at this very cool local corner bar! Thanks Greg!
Make no mistake, this is a classic STL corner bar. No frills, just good service and cold beer. You might catch a funny look if you're an outsider, but it's a friendly enough crowd. However, the hamburger was exactly what I hoped to find: simple ingredients and perfect execution. That burger makes McClain's a true hole-in-the-wall find. Next time I'm having the grilled chicken wings.....
My friend and I were hesitant to check out McLain's at first, but happy that we did. Very intimate "dive bar" type setting that allows smoking, Constance our bartender took our names with our drink order and was very friendly and polite with us during our visit. The crowd was really laid back for a Friday night, everyone just here for a laugh and a beer. I will certainly be back in the future, especially given the convenient location across from my gym!
Great cozy corner bar with the best wings in town, get them grilled. Can not overstress how great this bar is.
It's a smoky little bar, but the service is great. Karaoke on Thursday nights is always a good time, even the owner joins in on the fun. Lisa and Cheryl make great drinks for a reasonable price.
Great Local Dive Bar. Best grilled wings in town, and awesome burgers. In fact, all of their food is better than you would expect from a local pub. And, this IS a smoking bar. If you are tired of smoking outside in the freezing cold winter or boiling hot summers, this is the place to be.
