Uncle Bill's Pancake House

I love this place. The inside is so homey and cozy, like eating over at someone’s house rather than dining out. Everyone I encountered was very nice and service was polite and efficient (shoutout to Sarah). The food was good, sturdy, line cooked breakfast. I got the corned beef hash and it was nothing fancy from a can but yummy and crispy all the same. The pancakes look like works of art though. They are big and beautiful and filled or topped with a number of exotic choices. Open 7am to 7 pm I’m a breakfast lover, but I will be back to get dinner too.

We saw our waitress 3 times. When we ordered, when she brought our food and when she brought the missing blueberries for the waffle after it was mostly eaten. We had to ask other staff members for coffee refills and for the soda that had been ordered but never brought to us. The blueberries were refused which she thought was funny, we had tried to get her attention multiple times before giving up and eating. Another server even brought us the bill. Once we ordered, the waitress disappeared for a good length of time. The bacon was cold. One of us ordered a side of sausage links. That ended up being 2 breakfast links for $4! Other than that, the food was good but the service was the worst. I don't think we will ever go there again and if we do, we will try the West County location instead.

Uncle bills was great. Me and my girlfriend usually meet here for breakfast but I have been coming here since the 90's. I had the chicken and waffles and it was really good. The meal was served with real chicken instead of chicken strips and was cooked to order. I am actually thinking about going back and ordering it again!

The food was good. Service was good and friendly. We went back recently. The first time for me in a few years. The food was still good with good service. The portions were of good size. My salad and chicken were filling. MJ's chicken and waffles met her standards. My stepson's pancakes were so large he couldn't finish them. His girlfriend did manage to finish her meal. Little wonder this is a St.Louis institution.
