Yes, Ted Drewes is a St. Louis treasure. No, I don’t think it’s the best custard in town. I give that crown to Andy’s. I got a regular concrete with hot fudge, Reese’s, and cookie dough for $8. My wife got a pumpkin pie concrete for about $7. Both were just fine but it honestly wasn’t anything special, whereas I absolutely crave the Triple Chocolate concrete from Andy’s. While part of the appeal of Ted Drewes is the old-school stand, placing and picking up your order is a cluster cuss. It wasn’t particularly crowded when we went but it was chaotic. No one knew where the line was, made worse by a bunch of people standing around waiting for the dessert. They should designate some windows for ordering and some for picking up to make it more clear. But I guess it’s all part of the experience.

We love coming here whenever we visit Saint Louis. Ordered a micro lemon blueberry concrete, however I think I only got lemon. Still rating five stars because the custard is very good and we have had several good experiences previously. The service is fairly fast and they handle long lines well.

On a cool mid-November evening I certainly did not expect to contend with a long line of people, but here I was with a couple dozen people ordering ice cream while bundled up in my winter coat. It's iconic, the ice cream is great, and the helping sizes are huge.

Finally got to try the famous STL custard. Yummy! Suggestion- size DOWN when you order. We had smalls that seemed huge. Boyfriend had banana/strawberry mixer, I had terrimizzou which had pistachios and chocolate sauce. I did mine sundae style. Good heavens was it good. Fun place for sure! Great prices, delicious custard, friendly service.

Excellent frozen custard and the ratings don't lie WOW. The custard has an unbelievably smooth texture and the different items you can get to go in it all look delicious. The lemon crumb was delicious and very refreshing. If you are in this area definitely stop by and get something from here you won't regret it and will definitely enjoy it. If there's a line don't be deterred it goes by really quick. But like I said the ratings don't lie, the Google ratings for this place are off the charts and there's a reason why. It was raining when we went and they were hoppin!

Well we had to stop here while in St. Louis. The frozen custard was absolutely wonderful. The prices were reasonable and it was super duper. Ruby liked it too.

Due to the overwhelming popularity I came here, and it did not disappoint. Firstly, it says custard but it's more like an ice cream. Secondly, they are extremely filling! A micro is generally enough to do most people. They have a wide variety of flavours and they are well priced. Their ordering system could benefit with some improvement, as after you order you stand awkwardly next to the window waiting for your order to be called out. Overall still a fantastic experience!

An absolutely required stop when visiting or living in STL. A few things are certain: any of the flavor combos will be delicious, it will be busy no matter what time and you'll want to come back for more. I love hazelnuts and mocha, so I was smitten by the Russell. 😋 Also tried the Blues... blueberries, lemon and graham crackers. Mike drop. 🎤
