We didn’t have a reservation and did not want to wait an estimated hour so we left. The hostess ran after us and apologized for the confusion. I appreciated that as she did not have to chase after us as we were already so far from the restaurant.
We were seated at the bar. This really sucks when you have a bag or purse and have to hold it in your lap and if you’re seated next to the checkout iPad, it’s a high traffic area.
Other than that, the local buzz and ambiance is nice.
We ordered the calamari, chicken cutlet and greens, and sausage and polenta.
The calamari was okay, the squid bodies were crispy and the typical round slices were hit or miss.
The chicken cutlet was the star of the show. Lightly battered, seasoned well, and you can taste the butter it was fried in, which was extremely delightful. It was a very light dish.
The sausage and polenta was meh. The shishito peppers and polenta were very tasty, but overshadowed by the pool of oil from the sausages making it difficult to process.
Fiorella is a great restaurant by all standards. Their pizza is my absolute favorite. The dough is the best dough, and they have housemade banana peppers which are 10/10. The atmosphere when dining in is always amazing as is the service. We recently ordered a pizza to go, when we received the pizza it was made incorrectly and we went back in to correct. They proceeded to apologize and make a new pizza completely free of charge.
Loved Fiorella! Our experience was incredible! Service was polite and efficient during our visit. Loved the atmosphere which featured tasteful Italian-related decor in a comfortable, candlelit dining area. The menu was simple but filled with several delicious options at a reasonable price point for quality. My margherita pizza was cooked perfectly and so tasty despite its simple ingredients. Will definitely be back!
A very unique and pleasant atmosphere. I loved the food and the options available were all very thoughtfully crafted and designed. So much so that you are actually not allowed to substitute different sauces with different pastas!
The chicken cutlet is an otherworldly experience. Definitely try it first!
I highly recommend this place for any group gathering! The options were well priced in my opinion.
Per usual everything was absolutely incredible! The chicken cutlet is bar far THE BEST chicken cutlet around. The cacio e pepe is also delicious and cheesy. The atmosphere is cozy and intimate and the service is also exceptional. This restaurant never disappoints!!
We absolutely love Fiorella, even living in MA now - it's definitely a must visit when we are in Rochester. The service has always been stellar . The food delicious, the best pizza crust I've ever had - greens to die for, pasta delicious. Fav's for us are the greens, Margherita pizza, any of the pastas. It's a great! vibe, so fun! And! we actually like eating at the bar. The only negative - reservations are a must, it really is that popular. Thank you Fiorella for all the wonderful memories, looking forward to more in the future!
We wanted to dine in but waitress said fully reserved even though it was table outside, so we take out. Pizza was really delicious as we used to eat in Napoli.
I come from an italian-american family. We have family in Rome that we visit often. I've eaten a lot of italian food. Fiorella's is great. It's really good. Excellent. The pasta is fresh, cooked al dente. The polenta dish was fantastic. The pizza is delicious, great dough. Eat here. Be sure to make a reservation.
The food is 10/5 and the service is fantastic. One star off the atmosphere because it gets a little loud, but that tiny gripe is insignificant given the total experience. One of Rochester’s best.
Located inside the farmers market this place has a semi causal feel but serves food as if was a super classy Italian restaurant. I wouldn’t eat outside as you are basically sitting in a dirty parking lot but inside is really nice. Pizza was top notch and was well balanced and had a lot of complex flavors. Homage gnocchi was great on the texture but lacking in flavor. Prices are a bit high but service was great and it was a fun experience. Wednesday’s you can bring your own bottle of wine for free.
