Hefe Rojo

Good Mexican American tacos and entrees in a hip downtown location. There's rice and other unnecessary fillers in the tacos, but the meat was deliciously seasoned and juicy. The margaritas were strong and excellent value. Easy parking in the public ramp across the street. Service was friendly and attentive. There was plenty of available seating on a Thursday night.

The atmosphere was great. Loved the vibe. However no staff wore masks. The food was delicious! I would definitively come back. I had 3 tacos (barbacoa, fried avocado and chicken. The chicken was to die for good! That was by far the best one! My friends had the chicken burrito special and the hefe bowl with pork. They make their own guac and it is delicious! If you are not sure if you should go here or not...DO IT! You won't regret it.

The outside seating area seemed to be in need of cleaning and maintenance of the lighting. The Lobster tail taco was really nice. The roasted corn added a nice flavor. The pork taco meat was dry and tough. I would have preferred guacamole and salsas that were seasoned appropriately, the guacamole completely lacked salt. The “background“ music was excessively loud. Meagan is a friendly and efficient. The “enforcer” margarita is tasty.

Loved my lunch at Hefe Rojo. Started with a bowl of Guac and chips. The Guac IS as delicious as they suggest. That was followed by a Hefe Bowl with their Pork Carnitas. That pork is super delicious! To drink, I had to try the Mezcal. First time. Will have to give it another try as the flavor is complex. It's NOT tequila!

We recently ordered off of their new menu and while the food tasted good, one of my friends and I ended up having the food not agree with us. We ordered the Elote Dip and Shrimp Tostadas. And while both tasted amazing, something made us sick. I am also sadden that you guys got rid of your spiced yam fries, those were my favorite menu item and the reason I kept coming back. I have had multiple times were I have tried to call in an order for food and no one answers the phone, waited a few minutes and tried with the same results.

Awful service. In the area for the mayo and have really started enjoying all the food options available in the area. Wife wanted to go for taco's so we decided to give this place a try. Enter and was told by the bartender to sit wherever, there was only 3 tables with guests, so we sat in a booth. 3 different waitresses noticed and not one came over to say a word for over 25-minutes until we left. We subsequently went around the corner to Thai pop where we had amazing food and service. Don't waste you time on this overly hyped, under served place with all the better options in the area.
