I live in Colorado but travel all over the country for work. As I grew up on the east coast me and my family have a Blue Claw Crab addiction. I literally eat them weekly or a few times a week if possible.
Every city I go to I try and find a place that has blue claws. Sometimes some places just don't have them but going to Richmond I had high hopes I could find a place!
Well I did and I have to say that The Crab Lady rocks!! Had some of the best steamed crabs I have ever had and with the kicker sauce unbelievable. Mouth watering writing this review. Had some shrimp as well and also fabulous.
Being I travel it's hard for me to go to a takeout place and take a messy food to hotel. I was hoping I could eat it there and the really nice counter person (forgot her name) said I could eat on the outside tables and she gave me some napkins, a bag for shells and constantly checked to see how I liked them. I felt very welcome and not at just a takeout place. So very nice and good food.
Colorado only has 1 good place to get them. I would love to have a place like this close to Denver!!! It would do unbelievable.
I will return next time in area and recommend to my coworkers in the Richmond area.
This place has some of the best crabs/food I have ever taste� the customer service is amazing lana and pam assist me with great food, friendly service, and I would eat here forever if I can thanks ladies #RVA appreciates you #5 star for the crab lady!!!!!
First time there & now I am hooked! The lady who worked the front counter was absolutely amazing helped me figure out what I wanted for the best price! I appreciate the time she took and she even showed me what my order would look like. The shrimp & kickers is what we ordered and I can't wait to get back to order more. Delicious! Thanks again to the lady that was at the front counter!
Had a desire to get some blue crabs since we hadn't had them in a while. Oddly enough the desire kicked in while in Richmond and not back home where crabs are everywhere. Found that this place was listed and gave it a shot. It's definitely got the crab shack vibe going and clearly it gets a ton of business. We ended up getting the crab kickers and seasoned steamed shrimp. Both items were delicious and we ate them onsite. Kickers are crabs already broken in half with butter and spices. Most people get food to take home and it was about 100 degrees during our visit so not many people wanted to hang out. Staff was super helpful even tho they were busy. We also ended up getting some of their fired Whiting which had a great breading on it making it crunchy with each bite. I think it's cash only but they do have a ATM inside. If I'm ever back in Richmond looking for blue crab I'll go back.
The kickers are AMAZING! The crabs was hot, seasoned and good. No complaints here.
I had the crab kickers, were pretty good and meaty. Just wish there was more sauce and seasoning on there.
My wife and her friends love going here so one bad experience isn’t going to taint the overall experience and since she loves the place I’ll put up with occasional shenanigans from here but... I drove all the way from Virginia Beach to get crabs from them a few weeks ago and they put me on hold and I’m on hold for 15 minutes even though I called before the 5:00-5:30 closing time and the call somehow gets disconnected on their side. I was very disappointed in the customer service I received on that day but other days have been better!
Absolutely the "BEST CRABS" & "SEAFOOD"! The crabs are caught daily and cooked live on the spot! It doesn't and can't get any fresher. The "Crab Kickers" are to die for... (At least) 8 Crab Clusters & Claws with a "Special Homemade Spices" & Sauce... It's a meal in itself! And if you like the special spices then you're going to love the "Kicker Shrimp". This stuff isn't found anywhere else, (Including Sam's Club), except at "The Crab Lady"...Guaranteed! Many have tried to copy her product, but NOBODY can come close! They even have fried fish, oysters and clams strips and fish sandwiches too! Oh, the newest menu item is the "Snow Crab Leg & Shrimp Kicker Combo". This generous portion meal is comprised of a LARGE Snow Crab Leg Cluster, Spiced Kicker Shrimp, her Special Potatoes, Homemade "Crab Lady" Corn Bread, and Corn-on-the-Cob. So whether you order Fresh Cooked Crabs, the Crab or Shrimp Kickers or the Combo, your sure to get "The Best Seafood" anywhere!
Very delicious crab kickers, staff very friendly. Kickers was made just like I asked. Those Louisiana crabs are very delicious. Shout out to the crab lady and her staff!!! Cooked to perfection!!!
It was my first time going there and another customer suggested crab Kicker's to us. I am so glad we chose to get them because they were simply delicious. I have never had crab that taste this good!
Today was my first time eating from here. I learned the hard way to call early in the day for the most options. I had the kickers and shrimp. So good! The staff were friendly and helpful.
Pricey its def almost a guarantee that each crab will be meaty and sweet!!! & please beware of the crab kickers...that's an addiction waiting to happen and hard to kick when she's doesn't have none. Over the past years I've seen other places try to duplicate the crab kicker's but none have come close so dont be fooled by imposters!
