Stopped in on a whim with 3 friends for a late Sunday lunch, it completely hit the spot because I had been craving fried chicken. I ordered the half chicken (cooked longer/fried hard)….I wasn’t able to swap out my drumstick (hate those) for another piece of chicken but not a big deal. The chicken was flavored well and had the perfect crunch and wasn’t dry at all, I used hot sauce like I always do but honestly had no complaints. The Brussels were fresh and were okay but I didn’t really taste the honey Dijon but I like Brussels and ate them all. My boyfriend even enjoyed the chicken breast an hour or so later that I took home. I noticed they also have a daily happy hour so I’ll have to visit again for that!
Adrienne L was our server and she was attentive and checked on us appropriately. My best friend also appreciated she asked her individually about our choice of group or separate checks. Normally servers ask the whole table and we did pay separately but that was a nice touch. Also gratuity was automatically included and they accept Apple Pay (which we wouldn’t have known if our server didn’t inform us).
Had my nieces who don't get downtown too often so wanted to bring them downtown and sit outside on a nice day. We came by here once before to try it but they were closed so we end up going to Tipsy crab. We ended up eating outside which was kind of need there was a salsa class going on in the Pavilion and so we got to watch them. The staff was very friendly brought a couple of small glasses of beer for my wife to try to decide what she wanted. All the food was very good. They have some pretty unique items portions we're good size, nice thick pieces of chicken. Very well prepared and the ones we got that were spicy had a really nice kick to it! Even though it's kind of a chicken place they do have some unusual and different items on the menu it's definitely worth coming down and give him a try, I highly recommend!
I went here for lunch on a Sunday. It’s in a cute area near many other restaurants for crab, Ethiopian, Cuban, and other cuisines. There were a few tables for outdoor seating in a fenced area for people watching. When I entered the fenced area a server was spraying down tables and asked where I wanted to sit and kindly explained that I could sit inside or outside. My server did not pressure ordering more food or any item. Hot Chick was out of wraps so I ordered the hot chick sandwich. It was a fried chicken sandwich with moist chicken, but the ranch slaw softened the fried outside resulting in less crunch. The waffle fries were seasoned with maybe old bay. I got full on the fries alone. Again, it was just a sandwich, but the service made it feel like more.
We stopped here on our way to Maryland. It was very easy to get to from the freeway. The atmosphere is great and the food was phenomenal. We really loved the outdoor setting as well. The only negative that I can say is that the burnt oil smell was pretty strong. I'm not sure if it was where we got there so late or what. But I would say this place is a solid 9/10 if you are looking for good fried chicken.
I switched the regular chicken for hot chicken on the brunch biscuit and my boyfriend got the banana pudding waffle. I thought the chicken could be hotter, but the biscuit was amazing. I also really enjoyed the waffle. I'm excited to try more options once the wait time goes down.
Stopped in and grabbed a Hot Chick sandwich with Mac and cheese. I seriously could eat my body weight in that stuff. Very tasty and filling. Opt for the extra amount for breast meat and skipped the fried thigh unless you like the tough and stringy chewy chicken. I forgot and didn’t enjoy it as much as I could have. Overall was a five star visit. Staff is friendly and interacted with guest and one another well. Inside was clean and quirky. Will visit again.
Awesome service and the food was amazing. I ordered the Bad Mutha Clucka and it earned it's name! I enjoyed every bite! Everyone at our table complimented their food. Atmosphere was relaxed and unique. I'd def. Recommend this place if you love chicken. Its also walking distance to the Poe museum. Very happy and we will def. Come back in the future, 5 stars!
The only thing I don't like is the coleslaw. It wasn't sweet and it was watery. It was more tart.
The food is sooooooooooo good.
They have biscuits and sausage g6 and it was lit!! I had the wrap(chicken katsu) and let me tell you. I feel sleepy now. 😂😂Come here and get your fill and a nap afterwards 😉
First time going to Hot Chick and it didn’t disappoint. My wife and I were seated quickly and given menus. I love me a good ole spicy chicken sammich so I had to try it. 😊 It did take a little while to come out (roughly 35-40 minutes) with a moderate crowd. When the sandwich finally came out and I took my first bite, I gasped. When I tell you I’d swim with a lake full of sharks, just to be graced with the presence of this chicken sandwich again, I mean it. This sandwich not only had the perfect amount of coleslaw, but it had the crispy crunch we all love, It had the spicy heat we all love. And most importantly, it had the juicy chicken on the inside. You are doing yourself a disservice by not coming here and getting this chicken sammich. That is all.
Edit: fries were ight 8.5/10
Northeast to the south east for fried chicken and it shut my pallet down! Crispy! Meat tender! Sauces on point! Portions just right! In great community type area with competition right next door! If ever back in town wouldn’t think twice to go again! Drinks looked good and original too but I was not drinking!
