Add a little bit of scotch bonnet sauce to the carrot and cabbage side, and the taste buds launch into culinary bliss. The absolute coolest and best wait staff in .. all of Richmond, Va ....
It is the best Jamaican food lover dream come true. The home made rum cake for desert is to die for, add vanilla ice cream and your in heaven.
The best jerk chicken anywhere, lot’s of heat if you like spicy! And the prices are more than reasonable. The cream soda is my favorite, old fashion taste. First time here, but definitely not the last!

Love love lovee it! Jerk Chicken, Curry chicken are fantastic and come out FAST. Calamari is great very light and crunchy.

Started with Beef Pattie(aka. flakey phyllo dough stuffed meat pouch). Curry chicken-silky yellow and delicious...Jerk chicken quesadilla was great and jerk pork was unreal(was slightly charred and was more like pork belly with great brown gravy/sauce and the fat was cooked to where it just melted in your mouth)..scotch bonnet hot sauce was a nice addition to the table and cuisine!!
Good and drinks was amazing! Get the Rasta Redneck drink, you won't be disappointed.
Carena's and Jamaica House are the best Jamaican around!!! Can't advocate for them enough! I haven't found any place that makes Jamaican as good as either of these places (same owner if I remember correctly). All the food is super flavorful, I can never get enough of the rice and peas. The jerk seasoning has a good kick if you don't have a high tolerance, but I'd personally love stuff to be more spicy.
Amazing little restaurant in Richmond. We came here to eat while travelling past and are very happy we chose this place. The food was impeccable, portions generous and the atmosphere was pleasant.
Every aspect of each meal was delicious, and felt like it had all been meticulously crafted to render two unique beautiful meals. Considering all of this, the respective prices were extremely reasonable (just under 20$ per meal.)
The staff were friendly enough, and the time taken to serve the food did not leave us wanting. Very clean facilities.
I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking to eat somewhere in Richmond at any given time, and I am very grateful we opted to stop in here too.
If I am ever in the area again & in need of food, Carena's Jamaican Grille will definitely be a high contender.

Curry chicken dinner with rice & cabbage. Seasoned & cooked to perfection. Jerk chicken quasadia granddaughter said was the best! Total for 2 was $ 18.
The large oxtail plate and coco bread is all I order for takeout from here and it's as good as it always is! I've been ordering it for the past 5 years and won't get my oxtail from anywhere else. One day I'll try other things and update my review lol.
