Whipped Cafe

Our first time at Ce La Vie and we really enjoyed it. Avery Rose was our waitress and when we asked what her favorites were she didn’t disappoint. We ordered the Spinach and Artichoke dip, Mediterranean Stuffed Shrimp, Short Rib grilled cheese with tomato soup and the Bananas Foster Waffle. Thank you Avery Rose for the food recommendations!!! We recommend this place and will be back soon. We forgot to take a picture of the appetizer and the dessert.

I wasn’t impressed at all with the food here. I was hoping for so much more since it’s a great location and wonderfully inviting. I stopped in for a pre-theater bite. I just wanted something light so I ordered the tomato soup which the waitress recommended. It was ok, but nothing to rave about-needed a piece of bread or more croutons. I ordered a Creme soda and that came to the table as club soda. I had to send that back. I also had the Creme Brûlée with a glass of milk. That tasted like Vanilla Pudding from a packet with some sugar broiled on top. It was very disappointing since French desserts are some of the best! Atmosphere was beautiful and waitresses tried their best. But it also took me about an hour to dine from start to finish for just soup and dessert which I felt was a long time for two items. Sad to say, I’m not sure I would venture back here.

Amazing spot in the Town of Red Bank! This place has some of the BEST Crepes I’ve ever had!! Been trying to find a spot that has good crepes and thank god we found the one!! My family enjoyed food here. all vegetarian option. Love it.!!! delicious and amazing food !!! Their service was great and very friendly.!!! The decor, the music and the vibes are great. Five stars for the food and presentation!

We were the first to arrive for breakfast! The hostess / server didn't seem at all happy to seat us. So much so that we had to ask if they were open for breakfast ! The tables were sticky from the night before and the restaurant was not very clean. In fact under our table there were napkins and silverware that had dropped but weren't cleaned up from the night before. The server seemed more interested in her cell phone Communications then she was in taking our order. We had to ask for extra napkins, more water, more coffee Etc.

Ugh. Worst service we've ever experienced. Server came us to us and said "What do you want?" Did not introduce herself, did not welcome us to the restaurant. There was a set menu which she did not tell us about. It was byob and she did not offer ice, extra glasses or mixers. Just very abrupt and aggressive to us. It was very off putting from the start. The meal was fine, then charged us 25% gratuity. For what? I have never been forced to pay an extra 5-7% for rudeness. Don't expect us back. Ever. I should have read some of the other reviews regarding the poor service before attempting to go there. OUR BAD.

This was the fist time back since Covid and sorry to say that it was a disappointment. I ordered the seafood crepe which should have been "Shrimp, crab meat & scallops in a white wine lemon butter sauce". Instead there was a fried, dry chopped up seafood patty in a crepe with sauce on the side. It was terrible. To make the matter worse, my partner was upcharged without notice for switching ham for turkey in the French crepe. Adding insult to injury and also without notice, when I asked why the credit card statement was higher than the actual bill, I was told there was a card fee. No other establishment or restaurant we visited in Red Bank charged the fee. Bye, Bye, Ce La Vi. Ps. all the booth seats sink down when you sit and we were told the reason is "people stand on them at the Sunday brunch". We sat at a little table with chairs instead.

Went there before attending a board and brush night located a few doors down. The food was fresh and tasty and the service was good. Will certainly return to try a sweet and savory crepe. The chicken cordon blue crepe was delicious as well as the veggie burger. Nice decor and comfortable seating inside.
