My new favorite is the Swiss Chocolate Cake. Made with Swiss Chocolate, similar to the taste of German Chocolate cake. Then butter cream frosting with mini chocolate chips. You have to grab a slice from the fridge.
All of their bars, cakes, pies and brownies can be mixed and matched and sold 3 for $12. It’s a good deal.
Coconut Pie, Red Velvet, and Carrot Cake slices were a hit with my family. We enjoyed every bit. These desserts tasted like desserts my Grandma could have prepared and this is a huge compliment coming from someone who's from a cooking southern family. The service at Nancy Jo’s was exceptional. I stopped by while in the Farmer’s Market one Sunday evening.
The desserts were fresh. The space was clean and easy to navigate and I found all of our favorite desserts. Although I enjoyed all that I purchased I had the coconut pie, my mom enjoyed the carrot cake, and my sister (a picky eater) was completely overjoyed by the red velvet slice. We are red velvet and carrot cake connousarirs and if we say it's delicious, that is the truth. Anyone reading this who may be second-guessing desserts here - DON'T. Get the desserts you will not be disappointed.
Everyone raves about the strawberry cake here, but the carrot cake is also amazing!! And the pound cake!! I also loveeeee the banana nut bread…super moist!! And the orangeade was top tier!!! Highly recommend!!
Highly recommend the lemon bars here. It’s nice and flakey with a soft center. Good lemon flavor and yet still light. Definitely a better lemon bar then some I’ve had before that are a bit on the heavier side.
Highly recommend this place. I absolutely ADORE the banana breads, and the strawberry cake is quite possibly the best thing I've ever tasted. There are fresh made cakes, cookies, baked treats, candies, pies, you name it. Every time I visit the NC State Farmers market with my boyfriend, we buy a loaf of banana bread. Every single time. It's THAT good. There's just nothing comparative to it. And all the folks here are so nice & friendly. Prices are super reasonable. I have also been to Nancy Jo's Cafe in Clayton, the food was delicious .I had a BLT...and coming from a New Yorker, it's one of the best I've had in the 2 years I've lived here. The macaroni salad? Just incredible. I also had a sample of the chicken salad, it was also quite tasty. 5 stars!
Found Nancy Jo's cakes/cupcakes and pies by chance while walking around the Farmer's Market in Raleigh. For the past 2 years we have tried nearly everything she makes and it's hard to pick a favorite!! Pecan pie and Caramel icing cake are at the top if you make me choose :) A wonderful treat for your family and friends!!
If anybody thinks her stuff isn't a 5, they're just too high maintenance. Some people can't be satisfied. They are natural born problem finders, not problem fixers. Her stuff is as good as it gets! Get a whoopy pie, or 6!! Thank you Nancy Jo!!
