I feel so fortunate to have such a skillful and friendly technician as Tim in my area. He worked on my Juno 106 several years ago and it’s still in stellar working order thanks to his efforts. Most recently I took a JX8P in for some calibration and general TLC and once again he did awesome work! Can’t recommend synapse enough. Reasonable prices, great communication and reliable work

So happy with Tim and his very professional and thorough work. I 100% recommend anyone who needs work done on their on synths/audio equipment to his shop. My experience with Tim was very enjoyable, he answered all my questions graciously (and then some!!) and was very kind, patient, and all around a great guy who really knows what he’s doing! He is also willing to work on gear for people out of town (I live in Eugene) which is super helpful. I remember going into his shop for the first time and feeling like I was in a candy store but instead of candy there were tall shelves with synthesizers all the way from floor to ceiling. It was amazing and I will definitely be going again for any repairs/modifications in the future! Thanks Tim!!

Synapse Audio is the best synth repair shop I have ever dealt with. Tim is so knowledgeable he should wear a wizard hat. I was blown away by his deep knowledge of complex Roland synths and drum machines. He was methodical, communicative and thoughtful in his assessment and repairs. Also most importantly, he loves these synths and makes music! You can tell from talking to him on the phone. He did a wonderful job getting my Roland Jupiter 6 up and running again. Take a look at these photos at his clean work inside the synth. No weird glue or shoddy solders. It looks better than the factory work Roland did in Japan! My JP-6 now looks and plays beautifully. You can trust Synapse with your treasures.

Tim was really easy to work with. He got my beloved Juno 60 up & running again, pretty quick turn around and very reasonably priced. We're really fortunate to have someone in Portland that is so knowledgable with old synths and vintage gear. Highly recommend!

Tim's shop displays an impressive array of vintage keyboards and consoles. For me he has upgraded microphones, a Kurzweil sampler, and mic preamps. He makes solid recommendations based on available kits, parts, and alternatives. His work is excellent and his work ethic professional. It is a pleasure to work with him. I highly recommend his work.

The short of it: Tim is awesome and does phenomenal work. I have no affiliation with his shop. Finding a reliable instrument tech is a lot like trying to find a reliable auto-mechanic - they're Unicorns. Speaking of Unicorns, a lot of the shady repair people I've dealt with before Tim had a magical way of inflating repair costs for issues that somehow materialized from another dimension. It's amazing to me how people like that always manage to stay in business.... I digress. My point is: Tim is really good at his job (especially good with hardware that you should probably just throw away to begin with). His prices are more than fair, he breaks down the work he does for you and most importantly, he stands by his work. Synapse Audio: A+++++ Support the Unicorns.
