I got a pumpkin spice chai tea, I asked for half sweet. It was good but I think lacking a little flavor. Maybe because I got half sweet? Not sure, but I wanted more Chai flavor. My BF got a mango tea and he really liked it. Cute vibes. It was busy so hard to find a spot to sit inside, but we got lucky and found a spot next to the fireplace. Very peaceful in there.
I went to the Sellwood location. It was amazing a very fun place to have tea. There was a fireplace multi levels and super cozy. It is a great place to meet someone at for tea and conversation but would also be perfect for finding a cozy corner to read or study or sip tea and have a nice little snack if you are looking for alone time. I plan to visit here again in the future. Thank you to Cynthia for inviting Me there, I never would have found it else-wise.
So grateful that they are still around!
The rebranding made me nervous, as they've had great flavors and a relaxing atmosphere for so many years. When I discovered that it was simply a name change, (because, even people like me who have been occasional customers for about 20 years, still couldn't get the name quite right,) I was thrilled.
The feeling that I had when I thought they might have sold out, definitely made me realize just how much I've always loved the place. Now I'm making a point to go more often!
For those who don't know, it's a tea shop with rich flavors and a bit of a 90's, local coffee shop vibe. In my opinion, the world could use more places like this. I consider myself lucky that they're in my town!
Got iced rose milk tea w/ rainbow jelly
Very nice rose flavor, jelly was very good
Lots of menu options. Plenty of seating
Clean, good ambience
Super adorable location and atmosphere. Couches, tables and chairs available. Nice spot to study or enjoy a cup a tea with a book🫖 ☕️ easy to share the 20oz tea pot with a friend. Vanilla apricot peach tea was delicious.
This is hands down the best bubble tea shop, and the best hang out spot in Portland. If you’re new in town, you gotta hit this place up. I’ve been coming here for 20 years, and it’s been so cool to watch it’s incredible evolution. I remember walking to school and seeing an old, empty caboose that a homeless man used to sleep under. Fast forward a few years, and it’s been completely transformed into the best place ever. I would highly recommend Portal Tea (formerly Tea Chai Té) to anyone who is looking for great drinks and chill vibes.

Such a fun unique style building, roomy welcoming inside environment, and full of some of the best tea anywhere! I love the variety they offer (especially the Chai) and the friendly service to interact with. The staff is always very knowledgeable, helpful, efficient, and patient. I highly recommend this place, and be sure to stock up with the loose leaf available for sale while you are there 😉
Amazing place. If you want to just relax, get some work done and enjoy some nice calming tea, this is the place to go. The money is a bit expensive but it’s worth it. Its a place i go to daily. The bubble tea is especially great because there are so many ways you can customize it. It also has amazing little macrons and cookies. They have so many options and so many drinks. If you want to just relax, this is the place for you.
Top notch, can't beat it. They did lose my ticket but we got 2 free pots of tea as apologies. Good atmosphere and nice people. I Didn't even bother getting good photos, their vanilla peach was that tasty 👍
This is my favorite hangout spot! The best tea variety, vanilla rose chai is my fave! Delicious quick bites and yummy desserts. Hipster, Portland atmosphere. Sit back on the couch with a book and some chai or climb in the caboose for a view and a one of a kind seating area! Or take it to go if you prefer! I love just bring out the games and enjoying the moment with my hunny.

Still my favorite tea place and I love the options to order online now and pick up in store. I have also bought the lose leaf tea from here and make my own tea and chai latte at home now!
